4 Missing Miners Found Dead in West Virginia Coal Mine
Search teams found the bodies of four men missing almost a week since an explosion rocked a West Virginia coal mine, bringing the death toll to 29 in the worst U.S. mining disaster in a generation.
Crews who held out hope that survivors might have made it to an airtight chamber awaiting rescue instead discovered their bodies Friday in the Upper Big Branch Mine, officials said.
"We did not receive the miracle that we prayed for," Gov. Joe Manchin said early Saturday. "So this journey has ended and now the healing will start."
Officials say the mission now is to recover all 22 bodies still inside the Upper Big Branch mine 30 miles of Charleston. Seven other bodies were recovered after the blast Monday and two other miners were injured.
The raised death toll makes it the worst coal mine disaster in the U.S. since 1970 when 38 were killed at Finley Coal Co. in Hyden, Ky.

I HATE this. I hate that miners have to die. God be with the families and watch over them. Coal mining is a very dangerous business, God protect our miners. This is so sad, so terrible.

I'm saying prayers for these miners souls and for their families. Most of us enjoy the comforts provided by the power generated from the coal these men mine. Their dangerous work benefits America.

This is a tragedy that isn't being widely reported. I guess it don't fit obama's agenda. The Unions are trying to blame the Company, when they haven't got all the men out of the mine. Typical democrat reaction find someone to blame then worry about the details. Only problem, there are lives at steak here and they really don't care.

Tom, thank you, that is what we all should be doing.

Mark, I noticed that too. Your right too it does not fit obama's agenda. He and Biden hate the coal industry. I agree too their are lives at stake and they don't care about that.
