Janet Napolitano told reporters today that she was most surprised by Al-Qaeda’s determination.

Question: What was the most shocking, stunning thing that you found out of the review? And, Secretary, to you, as well.

MR. BRENNAN: Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is an extension of al Qaeda core coming out of Pakistan. And, in my view, it is one of the most lethal and one of the most concerning of it. The fact that they had moved forward to try to execute this attack against the homeland I think demonstrated to us — and this is what the review sort of uncovered — that we had a strategic sense of sort of where they were going, but we didn’t know they had progressed to the point of actually launching individuals here. And we have taken that lesson, and so now we’re full on top of it.

SECRETARY NAPOLITANO: I think, following up on that, not just the determination of al Qaeda and al Qaeda Arabian Peninsula, but the tactic of using an individual to foment an attack, as opposed to a large conspiracy or a multi-person conspiracy such as we saw in 9/11, that is something that affects intelligence. It really emphasizes now the renewed importance on how different intelligence is integrated and analyzed, and threat streams are followed through. And, again, it will impact how we continue to

I heard this on Fox. Napolitano saying she was surprised by the determination of Al Qaeda. She has to be the most dangerously ignorant person ever to hold a Government position. Homeland Security......OMG.

We have terrorists coming at us from all over the world and we have the enemy within. And this whole administration is inviting terrorism


This is how the left would have been behaving if 9/11 happened on their dime.

Not surprised at all:
One: It's about political correctness. I'm convinced that the undybomber was treated BETTER and NICER and in a more FLEXIBLE manner by all security personnel because he was african and muslim.
Second: Liberals don't live in the real world, they live in the world they articifically create in their own mind and their own friendly circles. When reality hits, they are surprised and say the stupidest things.
Third: They thought that Obama and his "outreach" would undermine Al Queda. Now, of course, they are surprised that this did not happen.
Again, I meet such liberals every day and hear these stupid things every day, but now that they are in power, everyone can see it on tv, that's the only difference.

Apparently she doesn't watch the news. If she did, she would see al Queda suicide bombers killing thousands and taking on the US Military. Maybe if she had watched the news, or even read this blog, she would have a clue of what they're capable of and their determination to kill Americans.

I have to hold out hope for the 2010 and 2012 elections changing this govt.
