What Makes Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson Nervous? A new poll!
Check out these numbers from a new poll in Nebraska, via Leavenworth Blog:
“If Senator Ben Nelson votes in favor of this plan, would that make you more likely or less likely to support Senator Nelson when he runs for re-election?”
More likely: 26%
Less Likely: 61%
Then there's this:
"In general, do you favor or oppose President Obama’s plan to expand health care coverage to most Americans even if this plan increases the role of the federal government in health care and increases the cost of the deficit?"
Favor: 26%
Oppose: 67%

Nelson is no fool. He saw Lieberman play hardball with Dingy and Reid caved. And I think the 20 Senators starting an investigation into the threat to put Offut on the BRAC list has given him the courage to hold his guns. I hope.
We CAN win this fight! We CAN beat back ObamaCare! God bless everyone who has kept the pressure on this congress. So far the more the Dems water this down to woo Lieberman, Nelson, Sanders etc, the more pissed off the House moonbats are getting.
Can you imagine the catfights when this bill goes into reconsiliation commitees ?
They will rip their eyes out to pass “something”.

If we can defeat this, this will be a huge victory for our side. But the left can also say they won because they didn't want it either. But I think, for them to claim victory would be a Pyrrhic victory at best. As Pyrrhis said, one more victory like this and I will come back to Eprius alone.

Nelson needs to pay attention to his constituents. I am sure the Chicago boys in the administration will lean on him, but they are not the ones who vote him into office.
I am also hoping that the investigation into the threat of closing Offut AFB leads to at least another black eye for the obama administration.

I agree, Nelson better be listening to his
constituents. So few do and I heard yesterday
on the news a democrat say, Nelson should be a
"leader and ignore the polls of what the people
want." That is what they think of " we the people". I wish I had been on the news interview
of the dem that said that. I would have loved to
tell him how he is a worm and owes everything to
those that voted for him. And oh man so many things how unforgivable it is to get elected and
then NOT listen to his constituents.
