State Republican Party Wants To Give Ben The Boot
The chairman of Nebraska's Republican Party predicts that Sen. Ben Nelson's decision to back sweeping health care legislation will be his downfall.
"I think this is the end of his political career in the state of Nebraska,” says Mark Fahleson. On Saturday, the state party launched a Web site, givebentheboot.com, to collect funds to oust the Democrat in the 2010 election.
Nelson said earlier Saturday that he decided to support the measure after winning concessions to limit the availability of abortions in insurance sold in newly created exchanges, as well as tens of million in federal Medicaid funds for Nebraska.
Fahleson says Americans are outraged by the legislation and "they're going to punish politicians at the polls."

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Reacts to Dem Takeover of Heath Care After Nelson Was Bought Off
McConnell said the bill will lead to higher taxes, and that it includes "permissive language" on government-funded abortions. He said the bill will cut back on Medicare, Medicaid, and Hospice funding.
McConnell pointed out that the bill now contains a special deal for Medicaid funding for Nebraska and Vermont, an obvious reference to the deals made with Ben Nelson of Nebraska, and Bernie Sanders of Vermont to make sure they vote for the bill.
McConnell said the Democrats are going to pass this bill "in the middle of night" because they don't want the American people to see it. He said this bill is "an absolute outrage being perpetrated on the American people."

The stench of corrupt democrats (trading votes for whatever they can get) is permeating our nation. Next will be Cap and Trade and then they’ll give away our sovereignty. If ever these traitors to our democracy needed a strong message from Americans to cease and desist - it is soon.

It is so heartbreaking to see the disdain these Senators and Representatives have for the Constitution and the American public. They have taken up the street trade, the only difference between the "ladies" is their price.
How is this not bribery and treason?

I hope we can replace a large chunk of the Ben Nelsons and John Murthas in 2010 and 2012. We need fresh blood in Congress that believe more in America, The Constitution and morals than in their self importance and pocket books.
