Boxer: Hackers should face criminal probe over 'Climategate'
Boxer:
"I've been looking at these e-mails, even though they were stolen they are now out in the public and we are now out looking through these e-mails...This is a crime, and I would ask unanimous consent to place into the record section 1030 of U.S. Criminal Code:
'Fraud and related activity in connection with computers having knowingly accessed a computer without authorization' it goes on, calling it a crime, so part of our looking at this will be looking at criminal activity" So the crime is not the world wide fraud of Global Warming, but the fact the e-mails were stolen... California should be so ashamed of this clown.
Boxer: Hackers should face criminal probe over 'Climategate'
Leaked e-mails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday afternoon.
Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime.
"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting. "Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I'm looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."
The e-mails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through hacking. The messages showed the director of the university's Climate Research Unit discussing ways to strengthen the unit's case for global warming. Climate change skeptics have seized on the e-mails, arguing that they demonstrate manipulation in environmental science.
Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter as its top Republican, Sen. James Inhofe (Okla.), has asked for, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.
"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated.
"This is a crime," Boxer said.
Wild Thing's comment.........
I guess Citizen Boxer is too dense to understand that all of the emails should have been available . Plus, the "crime" occurred in a foreign country where our laws have no jurisdiction! Duh!
In the twisted mind of “Senator” Boxer, it’s the “hackers” who are guilty of wrongdoing, not the Global Warming frauds who intentionally distorted the data or left out data that conflicted with their agenda. Multi-trillion dollar fraud and she wants to know who revealed it. Unbelievable.
This is a total “kill the messenger” moment. The dems are furious that climategate is going to destroy their chances of getting trillions in new taxes and increased government regulation aka “Cap and Trade” started.
Dear Lord, please let this idiot woman lose her next election.
....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Senator Barbara Boxer and her Democrat colleagues certainly understand criminal activities. The cover up of false climatic data by trusted scientists is as much a crime as the hacking. If they were hacked. They may have been leaked by a concerned scientist with a conscience.

Boxer is a vile POS.

Babs Boxer Dog should learn to keep her pie hole shut! If those emails showed global climate change actually happening and it was covered up, those hackers would get a ticker tape parade and a key to the city and we all know it. Hypocrites!

Typical Washington attitude. If you do the right thing, you have to take a bullet.

It must be really irksome for someone as arrogant as "Babs",(thank you, Lynn) to demand that whoever hacked this should be investigated, should the Democrat Senate also be investigated too. Isn't it also a crime for her to tax the American People for a non-existant problem ?

"..Dear Lord, please let this idiot woman lose her next election..." I could not have said it better. Ms Boxer is not entirely here. And, she is the poster child for this current administration.....catty comment: what is with the calico-cat-colored hair? Even this is odd. She is from another galaxy. :)
