Celebrates 60th anniversary of Marxist publication

A new video has surfaced of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's speech at the 60th anniversary celebration of the independent socialist magazine, the Monthly Review, in which his antagonism for the United States is on display.
In the New York City speech Sept. 17, 2009, Wright, President Barack Obama's pastor for about 20 years, once again reveals his disdain and lack of respect for the United States of America as he identified his belief in black-liberation theology with the Marxist ideology that is central to the Monthly Review.
Calling the United States, "the land of the greed and the home of the slave," Wright's antipathy to the United States was clear from how he described his personal history.
"My background consists of childhood experiences in racist America; teenage years in a segregated country that has never apologized for slavery; college years which were molded in the cauldron of the sit-ins in Richmond, Va., the capital of the Confederacy; six years in the military which showed me the inside and the underside of the beast Martin Luther King called 'the Number One purveyor of violence on the planet,'" Wright said as began to explain his "social location" to the audience.
Citing the importance of Karl Marx and the Marxist ideology to his own intellectual history, Wright stressed the importance of his exposure to revolutionary socialist political parties in Latin America, including the FMLN in El Salvador and Sandinistas in Nicaragua, as well as a 1984 trip with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to visit Muammar Gadhafi in Libya.
"If I help a homeless child, they will call me a saint," he explained, "but if I ask why there are homeless, they will call me a socialist. That's what Martin Luther King said he was. I will be proud to be called a socialist because I want to know why in this country there are homeless."
Wright maintained racism was built into the Constitution in that Africans were defined as "property, not people" and said it was an environment in which "property trumped people."
He also called for a "New World Socialist Order" in which the U.S. legal system would be reconstituted in favor of the poor.

Honestly I hope he does stay around and speak at alot of places and then visit the White House and be very obviously in public view. He is such a great "thing" for our side the more he talks.

My guess is Rev Wright never heard that song by Johnny Paycheck about how Jesus wouldn't be accepted in the churches of today with his dirty robe and bare feet. I finally found a church where our minister doesn't have a fancy car, his wife doesn't have fancy hairdos and is not dripping in diamonds. He wears jeans and a casual dress shirt. It's come as you are, which I like, a lot. Where in the Bible does it say a man has to have a ton of material things to be a man of God?

Strange how after the white house has been stolen all the Rats and Cockroaches are coming into the light. They had to lie to get to this point, and stay out of sight. Of all these bastards, Wright was the most true to his cause,
Obama said, "look who I surround myself with then you will know who I am.", ...Well we have 'slick' and all your friends are, communist, Socialist and very Anti-American. O'reilly is still asking, "Do you really think obama is a Socialist" ? Rush focuses in on this like a Lazer beam, Glenn Beck has tried to tell O'reilly, so has Neil Cavuto and he still refuses to believe it...And he's looking OUT for me, No thanks, mind your own business Bill.
But this is the mentality of Congress and a lot of the people, this just can't be, Van Jones only got kicked out because he couldn't keep his big mouth shut. And the way, the Media tries to separate the white house staff and obama is chilling, the moron Hand Picked these losers. I am surprised Bill Ayers isn't part of that group of hypocrites.

I have two people that I deeply respect, one was a Catholic chaplain for the 3rd Marines, he was this heathen dogface's chaplain too, then there is my dear friend of 43 years, a fellow soldier I served with, he's now a Catholic Father with his own flock. That Marine chaplain is now a Catholic Monsignor with his own Diocese. I wouldn't trade either of these two mortals for a shipload of so called Reverends like that race baiting hater Jeremiah Wright. Mortals, well they are sinners, both men have seen the elephant and know how precious life is first hand. I'm far from being religious, if I had my own way my own funeral would be held in God's church garden, the great out doors. Looks like you have found a real one Lynn, cherish it.

Jeremiah Wright is hardly worth commenting about. We know he is a communist, racist hustler.
I have met a few Black preachers and they appeared nothing at all like Wright. Even though they had mostly or all Black congregations, they presented themselves as men of God rather than race biased preachers.
Like Lynn and Jack, I have been lucky to know a few men of the cloth who were dedicated to God rather than themselves. I have not been a good follower of religious beliefs but as I age I have become closer to such. I haven't needed a screaming, prejudiced, political reverand to bring me there. Wright is a self serving phony.

I agree with all of you.
Rush Limbaugh said today.."Obama is Rev. Wright and all he believes in." I agree with that too.
Obama would not have searched him out and stayed
in that church if Wright was not saying things
he agreed with.

I think that the people of America owe Rev. Wright a huge apology. For making him live in this country that he hates so. And that we should buy him and his family First Class tickets to the country of his choosing. You know, that country that is so much better than America. Of course, the ticket(s) would be "One Way". And we should follow that with tickets for all the hyphenated Americans. They too deserve to go to that better country; the one they think America should be modeled after. If we can afford a tunnel for a turtle to cross under the road, surely we can afford to dig a little deeper and get these people the relief they so deserve.
