Burkha Barbie: The iconic doll wearing traditional Islamic dress
It's Barbie in a burkha: World-famous doll gets a makeover to go under the hammer for 50th anniversary
Associated Newspapers Ltd Daily Mail
One of the world's most famous children's toys, Barbie, has been given a makeover - wearing a burkha.
Wearing the traditional Islamic dress, the iconic doll is going undercover for a charity auction in connection with Sotheby's for Save The Children. (Ed. Note: You have got to be kidding me. The way the Muslims treat their kids? Don't even get me started." More than 500 Barbies went on show yesterday at the Salone dei Cinquecento, in Florence, Italy.
Rosie Shannon, from Save the Children, said all the proceeds from the auction will go to the charity. She said: 'We are delighted Sotheby's and the designer chose to auction the burka Barbie dolls for our charity.'
The money will go towards the Rewrite the Future campaign which helps millions of children around the world effected by conflict. The company director of Laird Assessors from The Wirral, Cheshire, said: 'Bring it on Burkha Barbie, I think this is a great idea. I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them."

Yeah, that make sense (not). The way to save the children is to rid the world of Islam.
Does the Ken doll come bearded, with a crazed look in his eyes, equipped with a koran, AK-47 and decapitating knife kit? Just wondering.

Who's stupid idea was this? Some PC idiot who works at Mattel and the uppity ups thought it was a good idea? Just how many of those do they expect to sell? And how much backlash will happen this Christmas because of it? I know little Rerun wants that Barbie head you do the hair and makeup on. I just might have to get a knock off from another company instead. But she loves Barbie. This was a mistake on Mattel's part.

I wonder if it comes with a pouch of rocks so she can be stoned if she fails to please Sheik Ken? Or, an easily removable head for honor executions?

Burka Barbie Dolls ? I thought they were salt and pepper shakers, with a bottle of A-1 in the middle. Does she get a boyfriend, "Jihad Jerome" doll with explosives wrapped around his sorry ass head.
Do you think Michelle wears a black lacy burka at night to cover up her most disgusting part, her head.

Bull!!! This was a f'kup by Mattel and now it is being touted as a charitable auction for the children, via Sotheby's, no less. Mattel most certainly wrote an unsellable toy off as a loss on their ledgers and we the taxpayer picked that tab up too.
I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them. I wonder if the dolls have been sexually mutilated by female circumcision too?
What in the hell is wrong in the heads of these assholes? Doo-gooders and zealots, sheesh!!!

Lynn, I agree, it is a huge mistake. They are condoning how the women are treated as well
by making this doll. They ARE stupid and
either don't care to learn about Islam or
don't care at all how evil it is.

BobF., good one, and yes it should come
with all of that.

"I thought they were salt and pepper shakers, with a bottle of A-1 in the middle".
They do look like that.

Jack, excellent point. I bet the toy company
doesn't even care about how the cult
sexually mutilates women.
