Obama loosens missile technology controls to China
Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department -- a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development.
"It's as though Commerce's mishandling of missile-tech transfers to China in the 1990s never happened," said Mr. Sokolski, a former Pentagon proliferation specialist. "But it did. As a result, we are now facing much more accurate, reliable missiles from China."
Mr. Sokolski said he expects the U.S. government under the new policy to again boost Chinese military modernization through "whatever renewed 'benign' missile technology" is approved.
"It was foolish for us to do this in the 1990s and is even more dangerous for us to do now," he said.
"It is shocking that it would be delegated to the secretary of commerce, whose job it is to promote trade, rather than to the secretary of state or the secretary of defense, who have far more knowledge and responsibility within their organizations for missile technology," said Gary Milhollin, director of the Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control, which monitors export control policies.
China's military recently displayed new long-range and cruise missiles during a military parade in Beijing marking the 60th anniversary of communist rule.
"It looks like we're going to have Loral-Hughes part two," Mr. Timperlake said of the policy shift.

If the Chi-Coms engineers were actually worth the paper their degrees are printed on, they wouldn’t need to constantly reverse engineer and copy American technology. Bottom line.

Gary Locke(my former governor) and Mona Lee(Seattles' NBC TV news anchor). Not surprised Chrissie, this was predictable, as much as Baghdad Jim McDermott is. All left coast politicians are Anti American. They have forgotten that Japan and Germany reached both continental left coasts and Japan invaded Alaska,. That Germany blockaded the East coast and sank Naval, commercial and civilian vessels, all before ICBM's or Nukes. Hillary is opening our arsenals for Russian inspection when Russia and China block inspection of the Iranian arsenal they both support. What's wrong with this picture? We're not talking about Steven Spielberg's movie 1941!
History:
February 3rd, 1942: A Japanese Submarine lobs a few explosive shells at the Ellwood oil production facilities near Santa Barbara, California in hopes of causing mass destruction. A pump house and a catwalk are damaged. Whoever was in charge of aiming the weapons on the sub is probably demoted.
June 20th, 1942: Another Japanese Submarine surfaces just off the coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia and Chief Gunner Hashiro Hayashi begins to fire 5.5” (that is, really big) shells at the Estevan Point Lighthouse. He misses his target entirely and fails to send any sort of message to the Americans. The Japanese army is once again disgraced by incompetent aim.

Will the next step for this incompetent A-hole be to give missile technology to Iran and North Korea? Re-distribution of wealth and next re-distribution of weapons technology to level the playing field. This is real, not an academic board game. WTF
