Congressman Bobby Rush (D.Il) Pushes For National FOID Card
Rush pushes for national FOID card
Illinois is the only state in the union that requires gun owners to have a current Firearm Owner Identification (FOID card). Congressman Bobby Rush (D- 1st CD) thinks it's time a national FOID card was issued. He also wants all guns to be registered with the Attorney General.
The National Rifle Association is sounding the alarm over Rush's latest introduction of HR 45.
Big Brother's New Target: Tracking Firearms
The measure calls for all handgun owners to submit to the federal government an application that shall include, among many other things: a photo; an address; a thumbprint; a completed, written firearm safety test; private mental health records; and a fee. And those are only some of the requirements to be licensed!
The bill would further require the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer, and owner's address in America. Moreover, the bill would make it illegal to own or possess a "qualifying firearm" -- defined as "any handgun; or any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device…" without one of the proposed licenses.
Rush's "Blair Holt Law" is named after a tragic shooting of a young Chicago Public School student who protected his girlfriend from the bullet of an attacker that boarded a school bus and began shooting.
Evidently, the firearm was illegally transported across state lines, and shock! the criminal didn't have the courtesy or fear of the law to check with law enforcement before he obtained the gun and used it to wield havoc among innocent, defenseless minors on a school bus.
We in Illinois may have worn down our resistance and accept invasions of constitutional liberties such as the right for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from conscience-deprived fellow humans, but that doesn't mean the rest of the nation will subordinate themselves without a fight.
Gun control is the next item on the Obama agenda, after governmentizing our health care. Where will you stand on this one?
.
Wild Thing's comment.........
In this BILL if a minor obtains a firearm (even from stealing it) and injures someone with it, the owner of the firearm may face a multiple-year jail sentence. How many gun owners will know about that provision of the law until it's too late and they find themselves in federal court charged with a felony? Spending several years in a federal penitentiary for simply being the victim of a common thief would be the most outrageous miscarriage of justice I can think of offhand.
.
.... Thank you Eden for sending this to me.

At some point, obama is going to propose sweeping gun legislation. He and his Chicago cronoies want our firearms registered, taxed and finally confiscated. When this occurs there is a likely hood of overt revolution. In many Souhern and Western states there will be pushes for secession.
I don't know how far a revolution would go. But with enormous debt and spending calling for more taxation, with more and rapid enchroachment on our freedoms and with Washington attacking The Constitution, I believe a revolution would be widespread and in depth.

More Constitutional violations. Why does the AG need a data base of everyone who owns a gun. Of course these laws are aimed only at Law abiding citizens. They are not concerned with the criminal who has a gun, it is the responsible citizen they are worried about. They are worried about the Grassroots army of 80 million gun owners.
The only way to get better at shooting is as Ed McGivern said, " Just shoot it, alot". If they can't control Guns they can't control the People, and this is a big problem for the left.

This VASTLY unconstitutional (and unpopular) POS is buried in a subcommittee (where most bills go to die) it's been there since February.
Check it out:

Oh, Why should WE have to secede? Why can't we excommunicate Illionois from the Union until they've repented. Why don't we invade D.C., grab the vermin, and quite literally hang them out to dry (prefferably upside down and riddled with bullet holes). I say no secession. America is Our Country, not theirs.

I wonder if he ever looks inside himself and wonders if he's doing the right thing. Probably not. Illinois is a corrupt state ever since the dums got in there and messed with the government. They are also going to tax the candy, pop, etc. with higher tax rates to combat obesity. Let me tell you, that's not the way to do it. The best way would be to give incentives to get people exercising and eating right, not by taxing them more. Maybe give them a tax break if they buy a treadmill or join a gym. It's sad because I use to live in Illinois when I was a girl and things were different then.

"In 1968 Rush went AWOL from the U.S. Army, co-founded the state's Black Panther Party and later was honorably discharged. The following year he served six months in prison for illegal possession of firearms." Wikipedia
Hmmm... Weapons Possession AHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHHH!!!
On a side note, I would just love to know how he got that honorable discharge.
Anyone here who would get honorably discharged after going AWOL? No? I didn't think so.

No one ever listens to what I say but my suggestion is that Blowbama, Rush, Holder and all the other commie black bastards get on a freighter and head back to Africa. After all, they're so friggin proud to be labeled as afrikans, why not send them home where they can skin rabbits and molest children.

Yea, I ran into that when I bought some ammo in Illinois. No problem for me, showed them my Missouri license and didn't have to go through any b.s. Illinois needs to divorce itself from the upper 1/4th of the state. The rest of it is ok. Well, except for Cairo.
