Bus Camera Shows Attack on Belleville West Student
Police are calling the Monday morning attack of a Belleville West High School student on a school bus racially motivated.
Two black juvenile suspects are in custody after they allegedly beat a white student on a bus heading to Belleville West, police and school officials said.
The 17-year-old victim was one of just a few white students on the crowded bus about 8 a.m. A surveillance video from a camera mounted inside the bus shows the victim being choked and punched by two other students, ages 14 and 15.
"By watching the video, it looks like it was racially motivated," Belleville Police Capt. Don Sax said. "It stands out to me."
According to a news release, the victim sat on a bus seat next to one of the suspects, and the suspect told the older student not to sit there. There were few open seats available on the bus.
In the video, one of the suspects attempted to push the older student out of his seat and began punching the victim in the face and choking him.
Many of the students stood up and began cheering on the fight. The bus driver can be heard telling the students to "sit down." After the fight broke up, the victim put in his ear phones and sat in the seat alone.

A Belleville West High School student was beaten aboard a bus on the way to school Monday, and a police spokesman said the beating could be racially motivated.
The 17-year-old victim was white and the teen assailants were black. Police released a video of the beating, which shows the victim being punched repeatedly while other students on the bus gather to watch, some cheering. It doesn't appear that the victim did anything to provoke an attack and tried only to defend himself. Police said it all unfolded in a five-minute span.
The victim was trying to find a seat and was told by two students he could not sit next to them, police said. When he did sit down, one teen tried to push him out of his seat then began grabbing the victim's neck and punching him in the face.
The victim eventually returned to his seat, but another student began taunting him a few minutes later. The victim was then struck in the face.
"In my estimation, it's racially motivated," said Capt. Don Sax of the Belleville Police Department. He said one reason he had formed this opinion was that many of the students, most of whom were black, yelled their support for the beating.
"There was absolutely no justification for the beating either time," Sax said.
Two teens were taken into custody; authorities will apply for charges today. Both students have been suspended, said Superintendent Greg Moats.
He also said there had been no racial problems at the school and said that he wanted to talk further with police to determine why they believe race could have been a motivator in the fight. He also said the school will do everything possible to make sure students are safe, but he wouldn't elaborate.

Belleville, IL has always been a hotbed for racial tension. But they learn it from their parents and the liberal media and entertainers like Kanye West and Jay-Z, who promote racial hatred with their music. I've noticed a lot lately also that whites are having a much harder time finding work than minorities. (we ask for too much income and benefits is the usual reason.)
But this is completely unprovoked. The boy needed a place to sit on the bus and they beat him senseless over it. Where was the bus driver in all of this? Isn't it his or her job to stop the fight?
I hope his parents sue the bus company and the school district to kingdom come. As a superintendant of a school district, I would be extremely up in arms about this crap going on, but no one really seems to care anymore. This wasn't just kids being kids.
Sorry, but this gets my dander up. Thank God my kids don't have to ride the bus and for the most part, everyone in our school district gets along fairly well. I guess we all realize we're all in the same boat together.

I think it's ridiculous that this superintendent gets on national TV and says that he has not talked to all the students on the bus. What a waste of the tax payers money. These superintendents are paid well above what they give back. Did this man graduate from the school of "stupid"? He should be fired. Please people band together and make sure something is done about this. I lived in the area for 2 years. Thank goodness my daughter does not have to attend this school district. She could have been on that bus and believe me I would not let this go until that Dr Moats was fired. What a dead weight.

Now the cops are saying it wasn't racially motivated. After all, it can only be racially motivated if a black person is attacked by a group of whites.

Agreed BobF, exresident and Lynn. God it's been a long time, this is not new, it being politicized and not properly prosecuted that is.
Back when, there were gangs that preyed upon the solitary white guy, they'd be jumped, beaten and left for dead. What was their punishment? Virtually nothing, because of the politically correct bullshit circulating at the time and as now it still is.
This is a hard criminal offense, to deny it is to be complicit, to deny it as being racial is to be complicit and to condone the behavior. The Racebaiting Rats, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Farrakhan and Obama, haven't spoken out from the top to the bottom, that alone speaks volumes because the entire administration is race based and the rest of the nation is too chickenshit to speak out for fear of 'inciting' a riot or calling them domestic terrorists which is what they are. If the police are taking a hands off approach then they might as well stay home and draw their pay, that way they won't have to take a stance. They'd rather blame the bus driver who has virtually zero control over the riders behavior.

Sounds like the cops got a call from the White House and told them that blacks are not racially motivated.
This all about racial motivation. They believe can do whatever they want "their prez. is Black".
I guess this is part of the social justice obama was talking about. Obama's creating the conditions for a race war.

God's '10 Commandments' tell us in the Old Testament - Exodus 20 - that each commandment applies to ALL races across the board. A HATE crime is a CRIME, regardless of race, nationality and culture!

Showing everyone how smart they are. And Holder says this country needs to have a conversation about race. We're cowards. A white person can't talk about that, or much of anything else. Just ask Congressman Wilson. Is it any wonder whites move out when blacks move in? This is a prime example of why.

Ever since the kenyan was elected by the kool-aid drinking lefties, the blacks seem to think that they are superior to everyone else. What they really need is a serious asskicking to straighten them out, then a one way trip via freighter back to Africa which they consider their home. Let them form tribes and slaughter each other until they are extinct. Earth will be better off.

darth, I agree with what you said but that's not the way the law is written. Case-in-point: During the election, Sarah Palin was hanged in effigy. The slug who did it wasn't charged with a hate crime even though she is minority, a woman. The legal experts on Fox said if it had been Obama hanged in effigy, the guy would be charged with a hate crime as a hate crime cannot be committed against a white person. The black guy in Illinois who killed a woman because she had blond hair and blue eyes was never charged with a hate crime as his victum was white.
