Town Hall Meetings One with Muslim Keith Ellison and One in Texas With Doggett
.
Doggett says he’s more resolved than ever to pass a health-care plan
U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, fresh off a rousing neighborhood meeting on health-care reform that ended with people chanting “just say no,” said this morning he’s more resolved than ever to seek congressional approval of health-care reforms.
The Austin Democrat said people who attended the gathering Saturday morning at a South Austin grocery store first heard him talk about why he favors change and then he took questions. Doggett said he subsequently said he wanted to talk one on one with crowd members interested in other issues, but that proved impossible because of deafening chants of “just say no.”
It was the din, Doggett said, that encouraged him to depart for a community event in Bastrop, where he said some in the Austin crowd followed. Later, he said, a few people opposed to Democratic health-care proposals showed up at a Democratic Party event in Bastrop.
Doggett said of his stop at the grocery store: “It wasn’t as if I wouldn’t listen and respond. They had their say; they just went a little too far.”
Separately, Doggett issued this statement today about Saturday’s event:
"This mob, sent by the local Republican and Libertarian parties, did not come just to be heard, but to deny others the right to be heard. And this appears to be part of a coordinated, nationwide effort. What could be more appropriate for the “party of no” than having its stalwarts drowning out the voices of their neighbors by screaming 'just say no!' Their fanatical insistence on repealing Social Security and Medicare is not just about halting health care reform but rolling back 75 years of progress. I am more committed than ever to win approval of legislation to offer more individual choice to access affordable health care. An effective public plan is essential to achieve that goal."

Wild Thing's comment.......
He’s from Austin. I understand it’s not actually part of Texas.heh heh
And the one with Ellison, in another video that had horrible audio, Ellison was asked about killing of Seniors and Keith Ellison said....well we all are going to die someday. What a horrible answer and how cold. Yes we are all going to die one day but what is the rush.
I hope this shows the democrats that they are going to lose every single state house and every close congressional race.
Lib lady caller on Rush today was saying that Michael Wolff reported on MSNBC that our groups were organized, being bussed to the town halls, (acting like the Democrats and Acorn nuts .. LOL) and she was implying how deceptive that was for the Pubbies.
Rush Limbaugh's response: Great! ‘bout damn time!!
LOL I love it.

One common thread throughout all these Town Hall Meetings, alot of the democrats are following in lock step with party line and are repeating all the well known talking points, obamabots is what they are. The hard liners. These aren't going to budge, Like Ellison, Bishop and Spectre, obama has them in his pocket. But with enough outrages and protest we can get this done.
Now they are accusing the Republicans and Libertarians of stacking the meetings with anti health care people.
I know Rush said, bout damn time. But this means also they are worried too. Again following party lines they are already looking for someone to blame.

Doggett said the people went too far? Who the hell is he to say how far the people of this country and his constituents can go? I sure hope they vote his butt out of office.

Mark, I agree. "But with enough
outrages and protest we can get this
done."
Yesss, somehow they have got to believe
they very likely could be voted out of
office and do they want their last
political accompolishment to be going
against the will of the people.

BobF., I do too. That Doggett is a real
piece of work, I never heard of him before
so he has made my first impression a very
disgusted one.
