Houston Doctors "jammed" a town hall meeting to protest President Obama's ideas for Health Care reform.
U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) hosted the meeting at Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Woodlands.
The bottom line is that doctors don't want socialized medicine — another flawed health care system like Medicare. They don't believe it will lower the costs or improve quality,” Brady said. “Medicare is already going bankrupt and not quality care. It also shifts medical costs onto other paying customers. It needs to be fixed first.”
“I am very concerned about what this will cost us in terms of dollars,” said Dr. William Parker, the chief medical officer where the meeting was held. “Before this week, they did not tell us any details of the plan. We've had too little time to read, digest and discuss something that will be such a major overhaul of the health care system.”
The revenue to pay for it would come from $544 billion over the next decade in income taxes on single people making more than $280,000 annually and couples making more than $350,000 annually; $37 billion in business taxes; $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid; and sizable penalties paid by individuals and employers who don't obtain coverage.
About ninety doctors attended The Woodlands meeting.
A week or so ago, Rep. Brady spoke at another Townhall-like meeting at the Texas Medical Center's Ben Tau Hospital, the largest medical center in the world. Brady say the doctors want to know why there is such a rush, saying they have no idea what is in the bill, and no opportunity for input. Brady asks "why are we not listening to these health care experts?"

Because if they did listen to the Health Care Experts, then they'd have to put the patient FIRST. This bill is not about putting anyone first only the government comes first and what is best for them.
We are no longer a government of the people it is no longer the Consent of the Govern, this is tyranny.

I've got a good friend whose daughter is studying to be a neurosurgeon. So far she's invested 8 years of college and still has quite a few to go. He's wondering now with medical care heading towards socialism, is it worth her efforts. With government controlling costs, she may never recoup the over $40,000 per year tuition it's costing her.

I love the libs and their "evil big oil, evil big tobacco, evil big drug companies, evil big business" ....what about BIG GOVERNMENT? Maybe we conservatives should start beating the drum about the evils of big government and wake the people up to the simple fact that big goverment is oppressive government. The more the govenment DOES for us, the more it TAKES from us. Healthcare is no different. I can't understand the people who think this will mean free health care...what a mess.

Government complains and attacks every big entity that serves the American people while government itsself grows to be the BIGGEST entity in America. obama is just adding layer after layer of more government on us. obama doesn't even incrementalize his additions. He grows govt. in a big way.
Now the shock effect of big govt and the costs are hitting John and Jane Doe. It is more than they can take and they are complaining. And the Messiah, Barack Hussein obama is telling those Americans to shut up.

We need as many people as possible
to stand up against this. If there
were millions like 20 or 30 million
or more turning out for town halls
wow just thinking about it.
Obama would probably be kicked right
out of office for how he has been to
the American citizen in all of this.
