Obama Going Into Lobbying Mode To His Organizing for America Supporters
Democrats Not Happy With Their Obama....that Hope and Change is not working for them like they thought it would.
News that the White House is ready to abandon the "public option" has the Democrats, and the Democrats at Democratis Underground are really ticked.
As soon as the news that the White House was ready to dump the "public option". Here's just a few of the reactions at DU:
Depressing. Our leaders have sold us out.
What happened to Presidents who said "The Buck Stops Here" and acted accordingly?
Make no mistake about it. Obama has sold us out. He's going to force everyone into Romneycare where you buy junk policies that wont cover doodley-squat. And the beancounters will be able to deny even more care. Meanwhile, the racketeering CEO's will get to double their bloated salaries. This is just more corporate welfare.
So much for "Taking On The Private Interests".
i think the idea is they lie like a rug about what he wants and then pass a sham bill quickly
Baucus' bill is the one Obama will sign...More corporate welfare for the pimping CEOs while the rest of us get f***ed even more
Yes, they have sold us out. So public option, just a weak co-op as yet another band aid that won't do s***. Obama said he was for change. We now see that's all we'll have left in our pockets after he forces Romneycare down out throats.
and the Bait and Switch continues
Bribing criminal scumbags is what he calls reform
the royal scam on the american public is in high gear baby-pedal to the metal
This is an exrememly sad depelopment
We already elected an overwhelmingly Democratic House, 60 Senators and the President. What the f--k more do we have to do?
But at least 20 of the Dem Senators are traitors and appeasers including the "leader".
No more donating to the DNC
Get ready for a GOP Congress in 2010. It's a rerun of Clinton all over again
Embarrassed to say that I totally believed him
Stick a fork in health care reform. It's dead. We're going to have to wait another 15-20 years before we can try (and fail) again
You have got to be f***ing kidding me
he is already on track to be a one term President. He will either lose the nomination or the election. And no, I am not one who thought he was going to lose in the past. I donated my legal limit to him in Decedmber 2007 and then went over every time McCain's numbers went up. But I do not intend to vote for Obama again, not in a primary anyway
He also said he would repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"
The terrorists won. I have said this before, but it bears repeating - Rove was right when he said that Dems are soft on terrorists. He said that after we were attacked on 9/11 the Dems would have sought counseling for the terrorists. Well, terrorists attacked us again on the health care debate, and guess what we did? It's over. I am going to redouble my efforts to find a job in a civilized country. THere is no one here to support any more.
Sigh it was nice while it lasted...guess I'll be staying home next election...F*** those blue dog inbreds...
Get ready for Speaker Boner, Majority Leader Frog Face, and President Palin in 2013The Dems are not getting any more money, volunteer time, or even votes from me. I've been voting Dem since 1978, and it's over.
unf***ing believable!!!! I AM NOT PLEASED AT ALL!!!
This bulls*** "compromise" is infuriating!
I'm not okay with it and that's not why I voted for him, talk about failure!
CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN?????????????????????????
Get ready for Speaker Boner, Majority Leader Frog Face, and President Palin in 2013The Dems are not getting any more money, volunteer time, or even votes from me. I’ve been voting Dem since 1978, and it’s over.
We're screwed. We'll end up with a bad government program, either a co-op or public option, which will prove what the Republicans have been saying all along, government is the problem, not the solution. We are allowing the Republicans to dominate the discussion and we will deserve what we get.
Obama to rally grass roots backers on health care
WASHINGTON
President Barack Obama will Thursday hold a live online and telephone strategy meeting to rally devoted grass roots backers as a backlash over his health reform plan spreads to liberal media commentators.
David Plouffe, who ran Obama's triumphant 2008 election campaign, and now steers the Organizing for America supporter network, said Obama wanted to lay out his strategy and message, as controversy stalks his major reform plan.
"This is a critical time in this president's administration and in the history of our country. I hope you can join us," Plouffe wrote in an email to supporters, soliciting questions for the president.
Obama mobilized the greatest army of grass roots activists in US history during his capture of the Democratic nomination and the presidency last year.
But so far, it is not clear if those legions of supporters are prepared to turn out in their millions to help him push key legislation through Congress.
The White House has spent the last two days attempting to dismiss reports that it is softening its proposal to create a government entity to compete with private insurers to bring down the cost of health care and to widen access.
A flurry of media accounts on Sunday interpreted remarks by White House spokesman Robert Gibbs and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as stepping back from the "public option."
"As I've said, now, yesterday and earlier today, the administration's position is unchanged," said Gibbs on Monday.
"I think the suggestion somehow that anything that was said Saturday or Sunday as being new administration policy is just not something that I would agree with."
The administration argues that having a federal component is still a key part of the health care plan, but says Obama is open to any option that will foster choice and competition in the health care market.
Some top lawmakers have expressed doubts that there is sufficient support in Congress for a public option, and are pushing a plan for non-profit co-operatives to be introduced into the health insurance market instead.
Obama's health care reform drive, his top domestic priority, has been assailed in recent weeks by Republicans and angry opponents disrupting town hall meetings held by Democratic lawmakers.
The president, trying to contain the damage to his plan, held two town hall meetings of his own on health care in the western states of Montana and Colorado at the weekend.
But on Monday, he faced the wrath of normally supportive liberal newspaper columnists, who fear he is toning down what had been billed as a generational domestic reform drive.
"If we manage to get health care 'reform' this time around it will be the kind of reform that benefits the very people who have given us a failed system, and thus made reform so necessary," said columnist Bob Herbert of the New York Times.
Eugene Robinson, of the Washington Post, added that "giving up the public option would send many of Obama's progressive supporters into apoplexy, yet the administration has sent clear signals that this is the path of less resistance it's prepared to take."
Here is the letter that David Plouffe sent out.
President Obama is holding a live strategy meeting on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time for all Organizing for America supporters. I hope you can join us, online or by phone.
The President will update us on the fight to pass real health insurance reform -- what's happening in D.C. and what's happening around the country. He'll lay out our strategy and message going forward and answer questions from supporters like you. And we'll unveil the next actions we'll organize together.
This is a critical time in this President's administration, and in the history of our country. I hope you can join us.
Here are the details:

The President wrote to us a few weeks ago to ask us to go the extra mile this month in the fight for health insurance reform. And so far, you've stepped up in a big way: Last week, an astounding 60,000 Organizing for America volunteers stopped by representatives' and senators' local offices. You told your health care stories to staffers and members of Congress -- of losing insurance after getting laid off, of being denied coverage upon finding out about a serious illness. And you thanked those supporting real health insurance reform for all the work they've done so far.
But these local office visits were only part of the story. The D.C. media has been trumpeting coverage of town halls disrupted by angry opposition to reform. But the reality on the ground is very different. Organizing for America supporters are showing up in huge numbers at these meetings all across the country -- outnumbering opponents of reform, often by overwhelming margins.
You've organized 11,906 local events in all 50 states -- from press conferences to community discussions -- since we launched our big campaign for reform in June. And you've made hundreds of thousands of calls to Congress.
Your work so far has been incredible. But the special interests and partisan attack groups who oppose reform will not let up, and they will tell whatever lies they can to spread fear. There's a lot more work for all of us to do. This Thursday's meeting is our chance to huddle as a team, get the latest information and talk about how we're going to achieve this victory. You don't want to miss it.

Hope you can make it,
David Plouffe

"Mayday... Mayday... the Obamabots are crashing and burning!"

Let's hope they continue to crash and burn. I never reaalized there were so many lazy, left wing nutroots out there. They want to do nothing and reap all the benefits from this country. So that they can be part of the Oligarchy, which of course they won't, they want nothing more than to live off the sweat of others while the Others pay the bills.
They remind me of the unemployed brother-in-Law living in the basement, unemployed, drunk most of the time, You only hope he doesn't come up stairs in his underwear and pee in the sink, when you have company.

The Left's crowd is waivering. Obama promised a lot. His sheeple believed it. Something for nothing is difficult to fulfill.
There are only so many "rich" to tax, and a lot of them are tax avoiding liberal Democrats. I see where UBS Bank in Switzerland has agreed to turn over accounts information of Americans to the IRS. Nothing is sacred when it comes to the US government. There is going to be a lot of cash going under mattresses now.
