Politicians, Heal Thyselves!
Politicians, Heal Thyselves!
If Democrats in Washington think their health care reform with a public option is a good thing, why have they exempted themselves from it? Why isn't what's good for their constituents good for them?
As World Net Daily points out, on Page 114 of the Orwellian-titled Affordable Health Care Choices Act authored by Sen. Ted Kennedy's staff and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP), there is a provision that specifically exempts members of Congress from the public plan.
At a news conference June 23, President Obama said people would be able to choose their insurance "the same way that federal employees do, same way that members of Congress do."
That statement was false.
Rep. John Fleming, R-La., a physician, told Fox News: "All these health care bills that are coming out on the Democrats' side — the 'reform' bills — basically say that Congress is exempt for at least the first five years, and perhaps longer.
The irony here is that under the health reform he is sponsoring, it is unlikely that Sen. Ted Kennedy would have gotten the treatment he needed for his brain tumor if his case had to be reviewed by some cost-effectiveness board.
The likelihood is that if Ted Kennedy were British and subject to the tender mercies of that nation's National Health System, he'd be dead by now.
Wild Thing's comment......
The government should get out of healthcare. They have already wrecked the post office, the railroads, the steel industry, the tobacco industry, the US borders, Social Security, Medicare....and on. They ruin everything they touch.
If the Health Care Reform is so good, then EVERY Federal Employee, MUST BE MANDATED to be on it.
If they won’t . . . then neither will WE!
How about this for a Constitutional Amendment.
There Shall be No Laws granting Exceptions, Exclusions, or Immunity from any Law, for any Person, for any Reason, under any circumstances, ever.

They have no business telling any business what to do or how to run themselves. We don't need more entitlements. I have half way decent insurance, but if I am forced onto the government plan, they won't cover my 7 year old who has learning disabilities. Read the bill-it states no one with learning or physical disabilities will be covered because they won't be taxable-viable. What do I do for her? This bill needs to die. When the congress and senate are home during August, we need to make their vacations a living nightmare and make them realize that if they vote for this pos bill, they will lose their jobs come next election. My family deserves better than this bill-period!

Sounds to me like a good amendment. What would the crooks have left to plea bargain with? One term, any office and you are out forever including jury service. No more appointees either, including the so called czars. I'm working on the hammer and a box of wooden stakes for lawyers and judges.

Congress is infamous for exempting itsself from the laws they make. They exempted themselves from the Civil Rights Act.
We no longer have a truely representative government. We only get to vote for whomever the RNC and DNC offer up to us. Mostly out of work lawyers.

Lynn, I am praying so much that this
thing does not happen. How they can
write this thing up and no regard to
children like your precious daughter
and all the people that will not get
the good medical care and therapy
etc. they need is criminal.
