Racist Obama Zombie Colin Powell Attacks Rush Limbaugh

Colin Powell Attacks Rush Limbaugh

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell blasted Rush Limbaugh Monday during a speech in which he said the Republican Party is in a state of collapse.

The GOP is "getting smaller and smaller" and "that's not good for the nation," Powell said, according to the National Journal. He also said he hopes that emerging GOP leaders, such as House Minority Whip Cantor, will not keep repeating mantras of the far right.

Powell lashed out at Limbaugh and conservative icon Ann Coulter. Neither serves the party well, Powell said during a speech to corporate security executives at a conference in Washington sponsored by Fortify Software Inc.

"I think what Rush does as an entertainer diminishes the party and intrudes or inserts into our public life a kind of nastiness that we would be better to do without," Powell said.
And Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain's running mate last year, is "a very accomplished person" but became "a very polarizing figure," he said, adding that Palin's advisers created the polarization.
“The Republican Party is in deep trouble," he said, according to the Journal. “The party must realize that the country has changed. Americans do want to pay taxes for services. Americans are looking for more government in their life, not less."

Powell stirred controversy last year when he came out for the Democratic presidential candidate, then-Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. Powell said he told the GOP candidate, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, that the party had developed a reputation for being mean-spirited and driven more by social conservatism than the economic problems that Americans faced, the Journal reported.

Colin Powell Lashes Out at Rush Limbaugh

Former Sec. of State Colin Powell blames Rush Limbaugh and conservative talk radio for Republican electoral woes in a CNN interview to be broadcast this weekend.

"Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?" Powell asked, according to a transcript of the interview on the “Fareed Zakaria GPS” show released by CNN.
"Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?" Powell continued.

Powell told Zakaria that he still considers himself a Republican, but said that his party should quit listening to Limbaugh for advice. Instead, it needs to look more to minority groups if it wants to win elections in the 21st Century.

The week before the presidential election, Powell crossed party lines to endorse Barack Obama during an appearance on NBC’s "Meet the Press."

During the appearance, Powell, the first African-American to hold the Sec. of State position, made clear that race had played a role in his decision to back Obama, "because of his ability to inspire, because of the inclusive nature of his campaign, because he is reaching out all across America."

Ironically, conservatives like Limbaugh had strongly opposed John McCain during his presidential campaign, while Powell donated $2,300 to McCain during his primary effort.

"I think the party has to stop shouting at the world and at the country," Powell said. "I think that the party has to take a hard look at itself, and I've talked to a number of leaders in recent weeks and they understand that."
"There is nothing wrong with being conservative. There is nothing wrong with having socially conservative views — I don't object to that,” Powell said in the interview, which was taped Wednesday. “But if the party wants to have a future in this country, it has to face some realities. In another 20 years, the majority in this country will be the minority."

Wild Thing's comment.........

Colin Powell is a pompous self-serving self-promoter. He is not the kind of person he has been passing himself off to be for many years. He is no war hero that's for damn sure. And that is just for starters.

So many rino's, and democrats telling we conservatives actually how we need to step aside and let the moderates run the party.

It’s a giant ploy to turn us all into Arlen Specters. They are scared to death of real conservatives. That’s who can beat them. The problem is that when the Republicans toughen up, they win and then they soften up and disgust the people who elect them. They listen to the mental softies in the party and try to get along. We don’t vote for them to get along. We vote for them to be partisan and to represent integrity and decency.

I agree 100% with Senator Jim DeMint when he was interview on CNN the other day.

"I would rather have 30 Republicans in the Senate who really believe in principles of limited government, free markets, free people, than to have 60 that don't have a set of beliefs." -- Jim DeMint

And of course always my favorite:.

“A political party cannot be all things to all people. It cannot compromise its fundamental beliefs for political expediency.” – Ronald Reagan

Um, dude I don't want more goverment I want dramatic rollbacks. Where the hell did you get that? All due respect sir grease your shoulders each morning, it makes it that much easier to pull your head out of your ass.

I respect what powell did in the 1991 Gulf War but that's about it. He'd probably be scared my way of thinking in which the government would be trimmed down to the Military and a few other agencies and departments. Things like the ATF, IRS, EPA, Department of Energy, Labor, Education, FEMA, OSHA, FDA, FCC, etc. would all be eliminated and permanently banned from existing again Use all of those surpus funds to funnel into the Department of Defense and tax refunds to Americans. If just things like that were to happen people like powell would be out of a job and The U.S.A. would be in a much better position financially; don't you think?

P.S. My Military enthusiasm, and thinking in terms of National Security, and the playing to win mentality in wartime are some of the reasons why I never really could describe myself as a libertarian.

"I think what Rush does as an entertainer diminishes the party and intrudes or inserts into our public life a kind of nastiness that we would be better to do without," Powell said.

Obviously, Colon Powell, democrat lower bowel tract, you haven't been observing the gutter banter tossed about by Komrade's Keith Olbermann of MSNBC's Countdown ,Jon Stewart on Comedy Central, Chris Matthews of MSNBC's “Hardball", James Carville of CNN, Bob Beckel on Fox and those slithering vipers of "The View" in their vituperous and vitriolic attacks on all conservatives. By all means pull your head out, it shouldn't be much of a stretch to reach back there with a twisting motion and pop it out, then take a look at what you represent!!!
What the left fears most is the truth and Rush calls their BS lies what they are. Unlike those minions who follow the mantra of the Democrat Party in lockstep so tight that if their leader turns, necks and noses, get broken all down the line. Conservatives have been speaking out about the communist excesses in both parties for the first time in decades instead of remaining silent. If that outspokenness is nasty in your purview Colon, then condemn the nastiness of your own side, they are the ones making the personal attacks and derogatory blanket statements, it's only fair that the mud they have been slingling to the right for all these years get flung right back as we refuse to cower to your threats. By the way Powell, if you had done your job properly back on (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991) today's happy horseshit wouldn't have happened, you were all too eager to declare a victory and roll over for the UN that you so dearly love, leaving that monster aggressor to continue his evil deeds.

As far as I am concerned Powell left the party before the last election for saying the same thing. He attacked Rush then and Rush blew him off for the Liberal Rino he is.

Powell is one of those Rino's who was completely satisfied with McCain, as with the rest of the spineless republicans they want to remove certain planks from our platform to make the party more accessable to the left. In other words a waterdowned version of the demcrats. WE will get more votes they say. Well we tried that and we lost our ass, House, Senate and the Soutpiel Plantation.

So Powell switched to vote for obama, the moderate, or so he thought, since January 20 the old General is not sure any more, sounds like he wants to come home but first he wants to set the rules before he returns. Set the rules for the prodigal son. No, the rules are the same.

As conservaitves we abide by: Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness and in that order. The rules are carved in stone and you, General, can not pick and choose the ones you want. That's the way it is. And that's the way we will win.

Actually the General who won Desert Storm is Schwarzkopf. Powell was back at the Pentagon while Storming Norman was in theater.

I wonder is Powell is upset because he never got his 5th star, making him General of the Army. The guy has an ego the size of Texas and a 5th star would have been bigger than any political appointment.

Jack, thanks for the information. Powell
is not someone I can respect. Like this
information and other things from the
past about him. He is not what has been
pushed as being a good man at all.
