Obama's European Apology Tour: Next stop - Dresden
Obama will probably make a stop at Dresden while on his second European trip that will climax with a speech in Normandy on June 6 marking the 65th anniversary of D-Day.
Rosenthal points out a little misdirection from the administration in that they will also probably schedule a stop at Buchenwald, the notorious concentration camp that Obama believes his uncle helped liberate in 1945.
The message Obama intends to send by visiting both sites is clear; while the Germans did bad things during World War II, they were also victims of Allied atrocities:
The symbolic significance of a visit to Dresden by the American president - especially one undertaken in connection with a D-Day commemoration in France - may be missed by some Americans, but it is absolutely unmistakable for the German public. For Germans, Dresden is the symbol bar none of German suffering at the hands of the Allies. The city was heavily bombed by British and American air forces in February 1945, toward the end of the war. According to the most recent estimates of professional historians, anywhere from 18,000 to at most 25,000 persons died in the attacks. These numbers come from a historical commission established by the city of Dresden itself. But far higher numbers - ranging into the hundreds of thousands - have long circulated in Germany and beyond. The bombing of Dresden is commonly described as a "war crime" in German discussions.
Alleged crimes committed by the Allies against Germans and Germany have indeed become a sort of German literary obsession in recent years, with numerous books being devoted to the subject.
The President of the United States may be planning on equating the strategic bombing of a German city with the deliberate murder of millions of innocents.
Indeed, Rosenthal states that it would be impossible for Obama to go to Dresden and not mention the bombing. And what of his stop at Buchenwald?
It is virtually unthinkable that Obama could give a speech in Dresden and not allude to the bombing of the city. Most of the city's historical monuments - which Obama's advance team were apparently inspecting - were severely damaged or destroyed in the bombing and had to be rebuilt. Moreover, for Obama to visit both Dresden and Buchenwald would suggest precisely the sort of outrageous parallels that have become commonplace in Germany at least since the publication of Friedrich's The Fire.
Barack Obama is fulfilling the dreams of liberals who, for more than 40 years have seen the role played of the United States in world affairs since before World War I as having a disasterous effect on mankind. This kind of thinking explains the "Blame America First" mentality that has guided liberal foreign policy since the 1960's, turning the policies practiced by Truman, Kennedy, and Johnson which recognized America's leading role in world affairs into an orgy of self-loathing and a desire to subsume American interests in favor of a squishy internationalism guided by the thugs and fools at the UN.
No doubt Obama will speak strongly against Nazi terror while in Dresden. But what does it say about our president that he may very well equate what happened to the Jews with what happened to German citizens during the war? Is he capable of recognizing the moral difference? Is he capable of recognizing evil at all?
If a big enough stink is made before the itinerary is set, it may be possible to dissuade the president from making a moral idiot of himself. But given the cheerleading he will receive from his leftist friends, that may not be possible.

We've seen this coming from the far left and media for a long time, that Dresden and Hiroshima should be considered "war crimes." And Obama owns the left and takes it even further left.
I bet traitor Obama is definitely going to apologize for America’s role in WWII. There’s no other reason for him to go to Dresden. This is getting really sick. I hope the veterans’ groups get all over the Whitehouse and the press before he can pull this off.
We couldn't have fought WWII under the conditions imposed by the Dims and MSM. I can just imagine all the prosecutions of troops that would have come after especially nasty fights like the Bulge after the Malmedy Massacre or on many of the Pacific atolls, where very few prisoners were taken. They're just a bunch of hypocrites the way they feign praise on the WWII vets and trash the Vietnam and Iraq vets.

What is obama's obsession with these apologies all over the world. Now to apologize to Germany for our bombing of Dresden during the Second World War ?
At the start of the War Roosevelt insisted that no civilian targets be bombed. The United States had not entered the War yet. Both England and Germany agreed. That lasted about a month. With Germany's invasion of Poland the first thing they did was bomb a small city of Weilru as a test to see how much morale damage it would do the the citizens.
In 1942:
"The Führer has ordered that the air war against England be given a more aggressive stamp. Accordingly, when targets are being selected, preference is to be given to those where attacks are likely to have the greatest possible effect on civillian life. Besides raids on ports and industry, terror attacks or retaliatory nature are to be carried out against towns other than London. Minelaying is to be scaled down in favour of these attacks. ” "

This was because the Germans were losing the Air War over England, Hitler upped the ante in order to win. The Allies did it as a quid pro quo.
What doesn't this Man-Boy understand and if he can't comprehend this , then why is he president.
In our own Civil War Sherman is now considered a War Criminal and a lot of Southerners would agree. His philosophy was to take the war to the "backers up of things" The Civilians. He said, "War is the solution the enemy has chosen and we shall give them all they want until they cry enough".
So this is not a new form of warfare, the United States didn't invent it. But according to obama it is our fault.
What's next a apology to the Japanese for dropping the bomb on Hiroshima ? Colonel Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the lone B-29 that dropped the first A-bomb, said, when asked if he sleeps at night, "Very well, he replied, I knew it needed to be done to save lives and I've never regretted it."
The democrats were so worried about Bush and the whole world 'hating the United States' with obama we will not only be hated we will be the laughing stock of thw whole world.

Obama, the muslim, hates what America has been. It is just the opposite of his socialist, one world, New World Order view. Obama is going to do everything he can to change traditional America. He seems to be wanting to do it in four years as he is worried he may not be reelected. Hell, their may be an armed revolution before 4 years is up.
What was done to Dresden and Tokyo and other Enemy cities was done to shorten a world war and lessen casualties. Even then some of those cities were bloody battlegrounds like the Battle for Berlin.
I had a German penpal when I was a young fellow. He was from Wurzburg. His parents thought the American Army was a libration army and that theAmerican soldiers after the war treated German civilians like victims rather than loke a defeated enemy.
Obama may not get the support in Germany that he hopes for. We will see. The WWII generation is mostly gone and the next generations have ived totally war free. Let's see if they appreciate America for shielding them these 65 years, or if they think America is a war crime mongering country with a history of war crimes in WWII.
Obama himself is a criminal. His crimes are treason and sedition.

I didn't know before Obama. I knew about
the New World Order coming but I was
thinking we would stay like we were and
just be included as a power country in
the group.I had no idea we had to be like
all the others to do this horrible thing.
Mostly I read about communists taking over
and I could see it happening like their to
do list. They sure have a lot of things they
can check as accompolished. Very scary.
These countries will be very shocked when
the day comes they need us to be a powerful
country and we are no better off then they
are.
