Obama Will Be MIA for from the National Day of Prayer
Obama cuts prayer-day service
Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the following morning.
All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the event.
For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the president simply is reverting to pre-Bush administration practice.
"Prayer is something the president does every day," he said. "We're doing a proclamation, which I know that many administrations in the past have done."
Pressed by reporters as to the lack of a formal ceremony, Mr. Gibbs said the proclamation was Mr. Obama's choice.
"That's the way the president will publicly observe National Prayer Day -- privately he'll pray as he does every day," he said.
Shirley Dobson, chairwoman of the National Day of Prayer Committee, said the group was "disappointed in the lack of participation by the Obama administration."
"At this time in our country's history, we would hope our president would recognize more fully the importance of prayer," said Mrs. Dobson, who occupied a prominent seat in the front row for the ceremonies during the Bush administration.
Wild Thing's comment..........
What a difference to have a real American in OUR White House and Sores's WHORE the Muslim from Kenya who's claim to fame is in is that he was once a community organizer.
He says the call to prayer in the death cult of Islam is the most beautiful thing he ever heard, he sought out Rev. Wright's church because they believed in the same things he did. Hate hate hate and lies! He is a Muslim and as the weeks drag on he shows us just how much he puts his being a Muslim first he plans to do.
President Washington declared a National Day of Prayer after the Whiskey Rebellion, as did President John Adams when France threatened war, and President Madison during the War of 1812.
President Tyler declared a Day of Prayer when President Harrison died, and as did President Taylor during a cholera epidemic.
President Buchanan proclaimed a Day of Prayer to avert civil strife, as did Lincoln during the Civil War.
President Andrew Johnson proclaimed a Day of Prayer when Lincoln was shot, as did President Wilson during World War I.
In 1952, President Truman made the National Day of Prayer an annual event, stating: “In times of national crisis when we are striving to strengthen the foundations of peace…we stand in special need of Divine support.”
President Reagan made it the first Thursday in May, saying: “Americans in every generation have turned to their Maker in prayer…We have acknowledged both our dependence on Almighty God and the help He offers us as individuals and as a Nation…Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States…do…proclaim MAY 5, 1988, as a National Day of Prayer. I call upon the citizens of our great Nation to gather together on that day in homes and places of worship to pray.”

Obama can't have a prayer breakfast in the White House. His way of praying is on a rug with his butt in the air while facing Mecca.

And what's wrong with a day of prayer for the nation? It's needed more now than ever! What if the Taliban gets Pakistan's nukes? Even if you don't believe it, at least, do something more than a proclamation. Robert Gibbs is a moron above morons. Oops, can't say that anymore-we lost the first amendment yesterday. Our church is having one outdoors tomorrow night with another church in our town. I'd say it's important we go.

OMG what a frightening visual of Obama on this page. He disgusts me.

This really makes one wonder what all the fuss was about Reverand Wright. Wright hated everybody that stood for the American Way. His new Spiritual Advisor hates Jews, and anyone who stands for the American Way.
My wife asked me, "Did you notice when obama was on his Multi-National Apology tour, when he left France to go to the middle-east,his wife did not go? Now why is that do you suppose ?"
I said, no I did not, I really didn't pay any attention to what this bozo does. But now that you mention it, that is odd. She would have to wear a Arab Babuska and cover her face in public and walk behind the 'ONE'. No outwardly signs of affection especially in public.
He then proceeded to bow to a foreign Saudi potentate, visited all the Mosks in Turkey and proceeded to stab every American in the back.
As much as I detested Clinton, even he held the Prayer Breakfasts.
So now the 'SP' will pray by himself, as Bob says, on a rug in his office. We had better wake up soon.

Still have doubts about his religious beliefs??? I believe you all have covered it quite well. Deference to the Saudi's, visiting mosques, condemning Israel and his treatment of the muzzie terrorists and Hamas clearly show his allegiance is to islam.

Obama is a muslim. He may deny it, but his actions give him away. That bow will go down in history.
It is easy to remember Bush's unashamed statement of his Christianity. He did not hide his religious beliefs. He was open and honest and wore his religion proudly, but humbly.
Obama mumbles, avoids and denies. He lies. He would like for us to forget his past. Well, he wears his past on his sleeve and it is showing that he is a Marxist and a muslim.

the graphic. hahahahaha

Lynn, good one, yes these Freedoms are
getting less and less.
That is wonderful what your church is
doing.
This has always been a big thing for a
President to do and he can't get out
of the way of his agenda even for one
day.

CB, I tried to make it as bad as I think he
is. haha

Mark, giggle it must be a girl thing. I
asked Nicholas the same exact thing. It
was like poof Michelle was gone immediately
after they were done in France.
I think you are right, that has got to be
what it is. The media never even would say
they only said she had gone back home.

Jack, yes he really is showing us every
day now what we felt and believed all
along. On one part of this I am glad
he is being like this, it makes it
easier to have proof of what he really
is a Muslim when I talk to other people.

Tom, your right. If he keeps this up, he
might even wear those long robe type
things aroung the White House. omg
just the thought of that.
