Queen of England Meets Chicago Community Organizer and da' Wife
Barack Obama's gift for the Queen: an iPod, your Majesty
Barack Obama met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today and gave her a gift of an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia. plus a rare musical songbook signed by Richard Rodgers.
In return, the Queen gave the President a silver framed signed photograph of herself and the Duke of Edinburgh - apparently a standard present for visiting dignitaries.
It is believed the Queen already has an iPod, a 6GB silver Mini version she is said to have bought in 2005 at the suggestion of Prince Andrew
Uploaded onto the iPod:
Photos from the Queen's 2007 White House State Visit
Photos from the Queen's 2007 Jamestown, Va., Visit
Photos from the Queen's 2007 Richmond, Va., Visit
Video from the Queen's 1957 Jamestown Visit

And this...........
It’s not every day the American president’s driver is told to move his bulletproof car.
But Queen Elizabeth II’s handlers made the request Wednesday after President Barack Obama’s reinforced Cadillac limousine was found to be blocking the garden entrance driveway at Buckingham Palace.
After it was moved, Jaguars carrying Prince Charles and other members of the royal family pulled up for the queen’s reception for leaders attending Thursday’s G-20 summit.”
.
Wild Thing's comment..........
Once upon a time when America had class, or rather when the American political class had manners, a President would give a fine example of American luxury goods, i.e., Steuben glass, or something American made that defined American abilities.
I bet she will just love the two speechs of Obama er ah his teleprompter speaking.
The Queen gives that to every head of state who visits. Traditional versus tacky.
....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

I feel for the Queen. They also snubbed her by not allowing Michelle to ride on the Queens train because the security thought it was "too risky." Excuse me? These people are trailer trash. It's perfectly safe. The Queen rides it all the time! And look at how the protesting is so much worse than when Bush and Tony Blair were in office. And everyone is blaming us for it! And no one is doing one thing about it. Now it's okay to protest, break windows, do all sorts of naughty things and it's swept under the rug. I think the White House ought to decide on a particular gift (how about a water globe with the White House in it that plays an American tune?) for every visiting dignitary, like the Queen does.

Well it looks like America's 1st Butler and Maid just showed up to take drink orders from the Royal family.
Ha and they were worried how Bush would embarass the country this is rediculous.

Michelle also broke protocol by hugging the queen!
Everyone knows that you do not touch the sovereign!
Don't these people even take the time to learn about the places and people that they are going to see? Makes the USA look like a bunch of bad tourists with no manners, so much for his campaign promise to make the USA liked by the world again!

A Harvard University education may not be an oxymoron but clearly you can graduate from Harvard without an education.

Lynn, I love that idea, that would be a beautiful gift.

Mark, yes and I see they are letting a lot of things
go that if Bush had done them or Laura it would
be huge news.
Posted by: Wild Thing at April 2, 2009 11:30 PM
Richard, yes your right and they let it go. I am
so tired of the double standard, if Laura or any
Republican had done that it would be news
item big time.
