Obama ends Europe trip with tour of Istanbul mosque
ISTANBUL (AFP) – US President Barack Obama visited a landmark mosque in Istanbul on Tuesday, following strong messages of US reconciliation with the Islamic world on his maiden trip to a mainly Muslim country.
Taking off his shoes as tradition requires, Obama stepped into the 17th-century Sultanahmet Mosque in the ancient heart of Istanbul, accompanied by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan amid tight security in the area.
Two Muslim preachers guided Obama inside the grandiose edifice -- better known as the Blue Mosque for its blue tileworks -- and the president smiled when they showed him a dome scripture mentioning the Prophet Mohammed's grandson Hussein, Obama's middle name, Anatolia news agency reported.
In a major speech at the Turkish parliament in Ankara Monday, Obama declared that the United States "is not and " and called Turkey a "critical ally," earning himself much praise in a country where his predecessor left the US image in tatters.
"Obama conquers hearts," the popular Vatan newspaper trumpeted on its front page, while the liberal Taraf said the speech marked the end of "the bellicose spirit of September 11."
He combined his visit to the Blue Mosque with a tour of the 6th-century Hagia Sophia church, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture across the Islamic edifice.
The church was converted to a mosque when the Ottomans conquered Istanbul in 1453, and was finally transformed into a museum in the 1930s, still featuring both biblical paintings and Islamic scriptures.

Do you ever wonder if the Muslims wanted him elected so bad because they knew he'd go easy on them? My guess is yes. He's one of them. I wouldn't put it past them to have gotten one of their operatives elected. This idiot can't even treat everyone the same! He has to play favorites and that's a very bad thing for a President to do.

It's my guess that the Saudi's made that initial run on the banks, exposing the fraud and over extensions of the housing market. Very few investors can pull those kinds of funds on short order creating financial instability, China or Saudi can. Soros makes money by manipulating currencies, he stands to win either way. It was the Saudi's who attacked the WTC, twice!!! It only makes sense that they would install a Mulatto Marxist muzzie to make the conversion of the United States to an islamist state. Yes he's one of them.

Some ally, they refused to let the 3ID deploy from their borders during the invasiion of Iraq. I believe it is impossible for any moslem country to be an ally.
I saw a bumper sticker today, that said, "Pray for our enemies." I told the driver when they are cutting your head off don't complain just pray for them. ...Idiots.

Be fair! Hagia Sophia is well worth visiting and praise. It has stood the test of time. It is thought to have survived perhaps three 9.0+ earthquakes. Hagia Sophia is the finest example of architecture and unmatched today in the whole of the Muslim world.
Of course, it was built centuries before Mohammad was born.
