Concern has been mounting over President Obama's scheduled participation in the U.N.'s Alliance of Civilizations summit in Turkey next month, with some critics painting the organization as anti-Western and advocating Iranian interests.
"The Alliance might more appropriately be called a U.N.-approved Slush Fund for Advancing Iranian and Other Islamic Interests," wrote Claudia Rosett, a Forbes contributor and journalist-in-residence with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
A separate report by the Heritage Foundation labeled the Alliance forum "well-intentioned" but with little prospect for success due to "bias and objectionable proposals to freedom of expression." The report was titled "Why President Obama should not attend the Alliance of Civilizations forum."
Obama is reportedly due at the Alliance April 7. The organization was formed in 2005 as an offshoot of the Dialogue of Civilizations, an earlier U.N. project founded by former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami, who is still a member of the Alliance.
Other Alliance member states or participating organizations include China; the Organization of the Islamic Conference; the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization; the Arab League; Turkey; and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization. Not on the list is Israel.
In 2006, the Alliance released a 63-page official report largely laying blame on the West for negative perceptions of Muslims and Islam. The report only mentioned Islamic terrorism once – in its recommendations section where it suggested the Western media should not use the term terrorism.

U.S. to Join U.N. Human Rights Council
The Obama administration decided Tuesday to join the U.N. Human Rights Council, reversing a decision by the Bush administration to shun the United Nations’ premier rights body to protest the influence of repressive states, according to U.N. diplomats and rights activists.
The United States will participate in elections in May for one of three seats on the 47-member council, joining a slate that includes Belgium, Norway and New Zealand. New Zealand has offered to step aside to allow the United States to run unchallenged, according to a U.S. official.
"This is a welcome step that gives the United States and other defenders of human rights a fighting chance to make the institution more effective," said a human rights advocate familiar with the decision. "I think everybody is just desperate to have the United States and Barack Obama run for the human rights council, and countries are willing to bend over backward to make that happen."

Obama To Release Another GITMO Terrorist
WASHINGTON
The Obama administration has agreed to release another Guantanamo detainee, but officials are not saying yet where he will go.
The Justice Department and lawyers for 38-year-old Aymen Saeed Batarfi have agreed to put his court case on hold while the government looks for a country to take him, according to papers filed in federal court in Washington.
Ayman Saeed Batarfi, a Yemeni doctor, is a member of al-Qaida, supported the Taliban and has been an official of al-Wafa - another organization identified by the U.S. Government as a terrorist supporting group.
The U.S. government had charged him with providing medical support to al-Qaida terrorists and he has freely admitted meeting with Osama bin Laden. As a medical doctor, he also worked closely with senior al-Qaida microbiologists while in Afghanistan and purchased medical equipment for al-Qaida.

He doesn't have to court them, Obama is one of them.
He will probably love this meeting since he will be with like minded people, hating America and loving Muslims and favoring the terrorists.
And about the terrorist being released. Why is he being released? Batarfi is being released not because he has been deemed innocent or no longer a threat, but because the evidence against him is not admissible in a civilian court !!!! This is INSANE!! This guy was a cave-mate of Osama bin laden.

Netanyahu gave obama ample warning. Do something about iran or We will.
The Israeli's are beginning to realize that obama is not their friend. Virtually, they are on their own. They will do what is necessary what it take to survive.
Obama can kiss up to all the Arabs he wants, he will not influence Israel to do anything that is detrimental to themselves.

says he wants to do, if he will have construction
guys come in and build special foot baths and
prayer rooms for them and himself. He might
do that and the thought of that just makes

There ar I believe 17 Chinese that were captured at an Al Quaeda training camp and no country will take them. The administration says that to return them to China would be a death warrant. Well what is the problem, send them to China. Better that than to release them and sign death warrants for innocent civilians. WTF?

Obama when they know what we know about
his love for muslims, the PLO, Hamas etc.
