Miss California Sparks Furor With Gay Marriage Comments on Miss USA Telecast
Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA on Sunday, but the big story to come out of the normally politics-free telecast was Miss California's comments regarding gay marriage.
When asked by judge Perez Hilton, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said
"We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offence to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”
Keith Lewis, who runs the Miss California competition, tells FOXNews.com that he was "saddened" by Prejean's statement.
"As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," said Lewis in a statement. "I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family."
Co-director Shanna Moakler told FOXNews.com that she fully supported Lewis' statement.
Miss California's answer sparked a shouting match in the lobby after the show. "It's ugly," said Scott Ihrig, a gay man, who attended the pageant with his partner. "I think it's ridiculous that she got first runner-up. That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience. Look around this audience and tell me how many gay men there are."
Charmaine Koonce, the mother of Miss New Mexico USA Bianca Matamoros-Koonce, argued back.
"In the Bible it says marriage is between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!"
Perez Hilton decided Miss California should lose the Miss USA 2009 Beauty Pageant because she said she was against gay marriage.

Wild Thing's comment........
First of all I say....Bravo for Miss California!
I guess what she could have done to please everyone AUGH! And oh how I hate that mentality. But what she could have said was to say the following: “Barack Obama was asked whether he supported gay marriage when he was running for President. Barack Obama said no, and I agree with him.”
They are trying to demonize her until she comes out with a full apology. GRRRRR
That Perze Hilton guy (?) provides a great example of the intolerance, narcissism and intellectual emptiness of the Left and the militant Homosexual Movement: “If you don’t agree with me, you must be stupid”!

And they call us intolerant-yeah, right!
Bravo, Carrie! Keep the faith! You said what a lot of people want to say but don't for fear of being retaliated against and now those fears are proven it will happen. Good for her! Perez Hilton can sit and spin for all I care.

If Miss California lost because her comment didn't happen to agree with the prevailing, Queer counterculture, then the Miss USA pagent has lost all creidibility.
His(He/She) question said upfront tell us 'Why or why not in your opinion', in other words we are soliciting your opinion, so as far as the question was concerned this was loaded from the beginning and unless she agreed with him she was doomed by any other answer she might have given.
The (He/She) is a half-wit without the common sense of gnat. Then to ambush her like that and call her names behind her back is just typical of this type of left leaning hypocrite.
Screw that freak.

It's apparent that Miss California is Miss America. America believes as she does. If the sodomites want to believe they're married, let them believe it but don't try to force the rest of America to follow your beliefs.

If the people are still running the Miss America pagent, Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler this time next year who so insulted Miss California then the pageant should be blocked from broadcast and relegated to cable channels.

Well Chrissie, they didn't label her "racist", yet.
God bless this lady for having wholesome values and the convictions to express them.

Perhaps we have found Sarah's running mate.

It is my understanding that Homo Hilton is in hiding. He has received so much hate mail that he is in fear of his faggot life. C'mon everyone, join in the fun and send him your best regards.

I fail to understand why a beast that hates women would have been a judge for a national beauty pageant. These woman are beautiful. He has no reason the be there. Is he on the Down Low with Trump?
