Hate Crimes Bill ~ H.R. 1913 ~ Attacks Free Speech
H.R. 1913 Local Law Enforcement and Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009
Our worst nightmare - hate crimes legislation. This will undo us. The line in the sand is free speech. And this is an attack on free speech. The war is lost, America is lost, all is lost if we lose free speech - even speech we do not like.
This is the most dangerous piece of legislation Americans face. What is hate speech? Who decides? This is an overthrow of the first amendment.
Clearly the clergy hates it, because they will prosecute priests for preaching against homosexuality, but they will not prosecute imams for inciting jihad and Islamic Jew hatred.
Violence against anyone for any reason should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Why introduce the 'hate' aspect?

U.S. Representative, Barney Frank, announced Thursday that the House Judiciary Committee will be considering hate crimes legislation, H.R. 1913, this coming week of April 20. Frank is expecting the committee to pass the bill which would leave it in the House to vote on later this spring, according to a news release issued by Barney Frank on his website last week.*
The bill, H.R. 1913, is named the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. As of Tuesday the bill already had 42 co-sponsors. The bill was introduced into the House on April 2 by U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), chair of the House Judiciary Committee.
"All freedom loving Americans must voice their opposition to this bill," said Dr. Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. "If this bill passes it lays the foundation for censoring Christians. In other countries, Like in Canada and Sweden, where these types of hate crime laws have been implemented, pastors and Christians have been jailed and fined for their faithful adherence to the biblical values."
US Congressman John Conyers reintroduced the same bill that passed in 2007. The bill was passed in less than one hour before any opposition could be mounted. It was eventually vetoed by President Bush. President Obama has expressed his support of hate crime legislation and is expected to sign the bill if passed.

St. Louis TV station reports a group known as the Barack Obama Truth Squad is coming under fire because a number of state prosecutors and sheriffs have joined and may crack down on free speech. KMOV-TV says the group was set up to respond to advertisements and statements about Obama it considers misleading and possible violations of the state's ethics laws.
Missouri Republican Governor Matt Blunt says, "What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous... the only conceivable purpose... is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate." And the conservative Americans Issues Project says Obama is carrying out a campaign of what it calls "legal intimidation."
Meanwhile, KMOV-TV has been inundated with calls from angry viewers as far away as New York and Florida. The station reports many are expressing concern that people could be prosecuted for stating their political views.

Let's say someone is listening to a sermon on homosexuality on a Sunday morning, and decides to turn in that pastor for what they think is a hate crime. Under that bill, the pastor would be subject to prosecution, by law. Let's say a parent teaches their child that homosexuality is wrong. If that child goes to school and tells a teacher about it, the teacher would have the right to have the parent prosecuted. Further, let's say you believe that Islam is a religion and culture that is based on violence. Under that bill, if you share that belief, you could be turned in and prosecuted for a perceived hate crime. Regardless of what anyone believes about any particular issue, we all should have the right to our opinions and beliefs, without intrusion by our government.
This bill really is insidious, as it is telling you and me what we can and cannot talk about...or think about...in our daily lives.
In reading the bill it also might be the Islam Protection Act to allow further invasion.
Our Nation the left anyway, has turned it's back on God and now with Obama it is turning it's back on Israel.
This legislation is about as Orwellian as it gets. And this bill is grossly unconstitutional.
Obama has expressed eagerness to place sexual orientation discrimination on a par with that of religion and race, and pledged his support for the earlier incarnation of the bill. ( source)

The Constitution. Also known as the enemy of the Left. Now that they are in power the Left is wasting no time destroying The Constitution. Law by law they are making The Constitution irrelevant. Leftist/socialist congressmen are introducing legislation that takes rights from the people and gives power to th government that it was never supposed to have.
We are losing America. It has been happening for decades, but now we are on a fast track. I think our only hope is to get conservatives in power in Congress in 2010, but I don't hold out much hope for that.

I think I might have been wrong in calling obama a communist. He's not a communist. He's a fascist. But there is very little difference between the two.

I should be able to speak as I please, just like the other side. What will they do when no one can say what they want? I'm sorry some feel they've been put out, put down, made fun of or disrespected, but that's no reason for the government to step in and take our rights away. Oh, word up-we've all been made fun of and disrespected in some way, shape or form in our lives, so get over it.

Let's agree obama does not like the constitution and thinks the rights it grants are punitive and restrictive. That would be, of course from a Government perspective.
The whole thing about our, original, form of government is the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, this is important. We the people if we are to survive must refuse to give our consent to these imposters of Congressmen, Senators and the Soutpiel in thw White House.
It is our government, it was given to us by the founding fathers, it is our responsibility to defend it: The Constitution, the Country and our Government.

Lynn, see that is the thing about this. We
have seen how they live by a double standard
and it will be the same with this if they
vote for this bill.
They will say what they want and no one will
get in trouble.
I sure hope they don't put this through.
