The dems have been waiting 8 years to start confiscating guns and to Bushes credid he didn't let that happen. Now there are no obsticles in their way. With this bunch now, the sky is the limit. That Million dollar Liability insurance scam will not be far behind.

The assault weapons ban was a cosmetic thing and did nothing to stop crime or make anyone safer. Neither will any gun restriction pushed through by the democrats or their Rino buddies. What it will do is make the criminal more bold because he will know obama is on his side.

So in 6 weeks the 1st amendment, the 2 amendment, and private property and emminent domain have come under assault by this administration. They are systematically dismantling the Bill of Rights.

These are bits of good news for now. I also learned that reid opposed the ban in 1994 and 2004 so there's still hope yet.

We all knew it was coming the moment he got elected. Folks, this is just the beginning.

Jefferson was right--A government big enough to give you everything can take it away just as easily. This administration seems more and more like the worlds in Brave New World or 1984. I just don't see a happy ending for us if we allow Obama to become dictator/overlord for life. I don't know why people wanted this so badly. If they take away one right, then they can take them all and leave us with nothing. He's all about control of the situation, the old school management style of keeping employees under his thumb. Work well and you shall live another day, work badly and you die. Everyone is expandable except himself and his cabinet. We can be replaced with those newfangled designer babies, who can be taught to Heil Obama while still in the womb.

When Mexico collapses we'll need all the firepower we can get to secure the border...the Feds seem reluctant to do it...so maybe the folks in Texas and all along the border will NEED assault weapons to protect themselves. The term B.O.H.I.C.A (bend over, here it comes again)keeps running through my mind.

Ah yes. The weapons ban has worked so well in Chicago, Obama's home town. More Americans killed there in 2008 than in Iraq.

The assault on private ownership of weapons is starting. "Only a few reasonable restrictions" is doublespeak for "we want them all taken away'. As Mark states, the Democrats have total control so there are few obstacles in their way, other than our anger.

JohnE, those are interesting links. Reid remembers what happened to Democrats when the previous assault rifle ban was passed. The Dems took a beating at the polls. Maybe, just maybe they will not be united enough to try it again.

Now is the time we actually need firearms. With a power mad socialist government, this is exactly what the Second Amendment was designed for. On top of that add in Chicago style street gangs, anarchy spreading across the Mexican border and rising crime due to unemployment. All these reasons add up to a realistic need for private ownership of firearms.

Eric Holder is a smoothtalking commie. Lots of sheeple will listen to him and believe. Well, the sheeple in England and Australia listened to their smooth talkers also. Now, many of those people regret giving up their guns, but it is too late.

JohnE PFC U.S. Army, that is so weird, gosh thank you so much. It does look like some of the dems like the articles say are not all for this ban. I was hoping for that to happen.

I have met dems that would be very upset about gun control or any kind of taking guns away or insurance or any of that stuff. Many are hunters but also many just want them for protection and target shooting.
