Obama Cut Backs to USA Military and Beef's Up Terrorist PA Army
Obama to Beef Up PA Army
The Obama administration has made plans to strengthen the emerging Palestinian Authority army that is currently being trained at an American-built base in Jordan.
U.S. Middle East envoy George C. Mitchell has asked Lieutenant-General Keith Dayton, who has been overseeing the training, to remain at his post for two more years. Dayton was due to end his three-year term at the end of 2009.
In addition, U.S. President Barack Obama intends to add a budget of as much as $55 million for training the force at the base, according to the Reuters news agency. The current budget is $75 million, and such an increase would almost double American military assistance to the PA.
Dayton and OC Central Command Major-General Gadi Shamni reportedly have a strong working relationship as well. There were concerns expressed, however, that Mitchell would use the expansion of the force as leverage to increase the takeover of the PA Special Force in other cities in Judea and Samaria.
Some 1,600 PA Special Forces have been trained since January 2008 and are currently deployed in Shechem, Jenin, Bethlehem and Hevron. The increased budget would allow Dayton to increase the number of battalions being trained, as well as increase the amount of vehicles and other equipment provided to the troops.
The United States has provided uniforms and other military equipment, as well as military personnel to train the PA recruits. According to The Jordan Times, arms are supplied solely by Arab states.
However, the new armed force is not referred to by the U.S. or the PA as an army, which is prohibited under the Oslo Accords.
US to Invite Iran to Afghan Talks
Obama administration said Thursday that Iran would be invited to a high-level conference on Afghanistan's future.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton proposed the session, which could be held at the end of this month, at the same time the Obama administration is reformulating its strategy in a stalemated Afghanistan war.
The new approach is expected to emphasize nonmilitary means of blunting the power of the Taliban and other insurgents and to sharpen the focus on the role of next-door Pakistan in lessening the threat of terrorism or extremism in both countries.
"The whole question about Afghanistan and Pakistan is one that we've given a great deal of thought to," Clinton said. "It is clear that the border areas between the two countries are the real locus of a lot of the extremist activity. It's becoming obvious that Pakistan faces very serious internal threats, and that Afghanistan faces continuing external threats that emanate out of Pakistan."
Pakistan would attend the conference of nations with a stake in Afghanistan, Clinton said, and U.S. officials said Iran would be invited as a neighbor.
It could be an early opportunity to test President Barack Obama's campaign promise to extend a friendlier hand to the old U.S. adversary when it is in U.S. interests to do so.
Iran's Response..............
Iran throws conference to support Hamas
Iran, Hamas and their supporters from 30 countries spent two days probing ways to provide assistance to the militant Palestinian group and promote "resistance against Israel" at an international gathering in Tehran, an Iranian lawmaker said Thursday.
The conference in the Iranian capital aimed to counter an international meeting in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik on Monday that gave a powerful boost to Hamas' rival, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Countries represented at the conference included Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Mali, as well as Turkey, Indonesia, Algeria, Bolivia, Jordan and Yemen.
Clinton cautions Israel, opens door to Syria
Jerusalem —- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton promised Tuesday to work with the incoming Israeli government, but delivered a clear message that could put her at odds with hawkish Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu: Movement toward establishment of a Palestinian state is “inescapable.”
Clinton also said the U.S. soon would send two envoys to Syria, the most significant sign yet that the Obama administration is ready to mend relations with the Damascus regime. The U.S. withdrew its ambassador in 2005, accusing Syria of supporting terrorism.
Wild Thing's comment......
Obama is funding terrorists, dropping sanctions on Syria and Cuba while telling GE to stop doing military contracting in India, UK and Australia.
Muslim Obama making cut backs to funding our military, and this while he’s trying to reduce our military’s medical benefits . Dosen't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy. This is not a covert move agaqinst Israel...it’s Overt.
I have posted about cut backs to our military in another post, but here is a snipet from the article:
W. House: DoD Officials Must Vow Secrecy on Budget
"The Pentagon and Office of Management and Budget have agreed on a fiscal 2010 defense budget top line figure of $537 billion. That level is nearly $50 billion lower than the $585 billion defense plan created during the final months of the Bush administration, and $24 billion higher than the already enacted $513 billion 2009 defense budget.
The administration is requiring defense officials to promise they will not divulge the kinds of information covered in the document "to any individual not authorized to receive it."
"Under no circumstances will I disclose such information outside the Department of Defense and other government agencies directly involved in the defense planning and resource-allocation process, such as the Office of Management and Budget," the agreement said.

I'm so glad Netanyahu going to be PM for Israel's sake. And I hope they do whatever they have to do to take care of their country, Clinton and Obama be damned.
And let's play nice with the countries that would love to see us destroyed, all the while tying the hands of our Defense.
I think it's time to go visit our gun shop again...

Slowly obama's true colors are coming out. It slipped out during this interview. It maybe really didn't slip out he said it without even blinking and eye or stuttering, perfect diction if you ask me.

We are building and training a Palestinian military force? And have been for several years??
WTF??
I know Bush had the wild idea of a Palestinian State, but I thought that was just misguided rhetoric. Damn Folks! Now that we have the Marxist muzzie in charge this conspiracy is going to go at top speed. Obama is bringing thousands of Palestinians to America as "refugees". They will be financially supported by our tax dollars, $20.3M to start with. That would be like bringing Viet Cong to America during the Vietnam War.
Buy your guns and ammo. There is going to be be a lot of unrest in the world, maybe in America also. Turds are about to hit the propellers.

Mark, I agree, thanks for pointing that out. He did not hesitate, not even a little, it came out of his mouth as natural as could be.
Mark what you said, is important to think about. This is a very scary thought and it lingers with fear in the back of my mind.....
"question now is when do we go to Sharia law from the Constitution."
