Reaction To Obama and Why He Fumbled Brown Visit Because He’s in Over Hs Head
Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown
Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.
Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.
British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.
But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama's inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.
Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.
A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".
A British official conceded that the furore surrounding the apparent snub to Mr Brown had come as a shock to the White House. "I think it's right to say that their focus is elsewhere, on domestic affairs. A number of our US interlocutors said they couldn't quite understand the British concerns and didn't get what that was all about."
They concede that the mood music of the event was at times strained.
Mr Obama rang Mr Brown as he flew home, in what many suspected was an attempt to make amends.
The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned by The Sunday Telegraph about why the event was so low-key.
The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment." The apparent lack of attention to detail by the Obama administration is indicative of what many believe to be Mr Obama's determination to do too much too quickly.

Wild Thing's comment...........
We all knew he was not qualified, that Palin had TONS more experience to LEAD and be in charge then Obama ever will.
Obama has picked a team that is as brash, cold blooded, LOW class as he is. But of course why wouldn't he, he wants to be comfortable with this trashy people as one of his own.
They have the same disrespect for our country that Obama has and it shows in how they do their handling of traditional meetings that they can't even take 5 minutes to find out the proper way to do things. Change to them is let's do it our own way and the heck with what is proper, and Presidential. Too worried about their stupid Seals, and Logos and shit like that. Sorry but this kind of thing really disgusts me.
He is a POS but at least he could follow Presidential etiquette. hahahahaha
Maybe because of how I was brought up, that might be part of it, I am not sure. When a family has a lot of military people in it I think there is a certain amount of regiment that a person picks up. Things done a certain way, a place for everything, and no excuses for not finishing a job, traditions respected and carried on, all kinds of things. But things I picked up on and without even realizing it pretty much incorporated this kind of thing in my life. So things with something like the office of the President I expect protocol to be followed. And Obama has not done this. He seems by all observations from what he has done and how he has handled himself since 1/20/09, he bucks the system so to speak.
Anyway, this is just my take on it, and obviously there are more important things to be ticked off about like his kissing up to the PLO, and his latest of comments about his wanting to reach out to moderate ( ??!!!!???) elements of the Taliban And a hundred other things he has managed to mess with that are destroying our country.

Bovine Scatology!!
He's overwhelmed and exhausted but he can party till midnight on most nights? The incompetence of him and his staff is what screwed this up.
Funny, he's not too exhausted to fly to Columbus, OH to tout how his multi-billion spending saved a whopping 25 jobs.

Yeah, he's too tired to worry about foreign diplomacy. But he has time to give millions of $$ to Hamas and promise refugee status in the US for thousands of Palestinians. Obama is a turd and his staff is a pile of crap.

This reminds me of the time my sister's lazy husband said he was "too tired to fish." Now that's tired!
They are scrambling for excuses, and this one is pitiful. Come on, he didn't have to go to Best Buy himself for those DVD's for Brown, he could have stayed home and boned up on that Constitutional law he is supposed to uphold.
PS...on that last item...someone on Hot Air was surprised they didn't get the Browns a Hickory Farms gift box. I know why, it's not Christmas yet!

BobF., why people don't see what he is like is something I just can't understand. That thing he did with OH should have been more in the news too.

I thought he WANTED this job....he has the energy to jetset all over the country but he can't wake up for a mid-morning press conference and meet and greet?
uh oh....
