Feds spending millions on Kennedy legacy in Mass.
BOSTON
More than one out of every five dollars of the $126 million Massachusetts is receiving in earmarks from a $410 billion federal spending package is going to help preserve the legacy of the Kennedys.
The bill includes $5.8 million for the planning and design of a building to house a new Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate. The funding may also help support an endowment for the institute.
The bill also includes $22 million to expand facilities at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum and $5 million more for a new gateway to the Boston Harbor Islands on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a park system in downtown Boston named after Kennedy's mother and built on land opened up by the Big Dig highway project.
The $22 million JFK library earmark was sponsored by fellow Massachusetts Democrat Sen. John Kerry, who is also a top sponsor for the money for the Kennedy Senate Institute. Kerry defended the library project, which he said is needed to upgrade the facility.

I really dislike how they build these build monuments to each other with our tax dollars. imo it should all be done by donations, just see how many people really want to pay for something like this with thier money.
Will there be an Edward M. Kennedy Memorial Bar?
How about if we rename all the new Kennedy stuff for Rush, Beck, and Sarah Palin etc.

I waiting to get Mary Jo Kopechne's take on this.
Only a Democrat and a Kennedy can be responsible for the death of an innocent woman and have monuments built to honor them.

Good point BobF, Is there an earmark for a monument to be laid at the the bridge, at Chappaquidack creek. There should be, this is Tedy Kennedy's legacy.

How much of this stimulus bill will be going to Ted Kennedy Memorial Bridge at Chappaquiddick?? Let everyone know what this slimy POS really was and is. Mary Jo Kopechne paid with her life for riding with this character and he went home leaving her to drown. Here is a link on what this creep did.

The Kennedy's have used their power and wealth to buy their way out of trouble many times. They have even used their money to influence the Catholic Church. Ted is getting close to the time to meet the Ultimate Power and I don't think his political status or family fortune is going to help him this time.
I see that Kerry sponsered some of the earmarks. I also notice that the Kennedy clan did not refuse any of this taxpayer money.

Tom, amazing, that is all so true, and they keep getting the ok by their voters and the even their church then they will never know how shameful what they do effects others, they just don't care.
