Some Democrats balk at White House tactics
A campaign to persuade Republicans to support President Barack Obama's budget is morphing into something broader, with the White House political machine and its allies focusing pressure on conservative Democrats and anyone else who might be tempted to vote no.
Targeted Democrats are balking at some of the tactics, a sign that campaign methods so effective in getting Obama elected might not be easily transferable to the policy realm.
Earlier this month, ads underwritten by Obama allies were directed more narrowly against Republican lawmakers opposed to the president's budget. As an example, a tax-exempt group called Americans United for Change ran an ad in recent weeks mocking Republicans, saying they had simply said "No" to the Obama agenda rather than roll out policy alternatives of their own.
This week, the group is running cable TV ads in what it describes as "12 targeted states represented by Republican and Democratic members of Congress." Obama's fellow Democrats caution that the ads can backfire in swing districts heavily populated with conservative voters. MoveOn.org, a progressive group, is running radio and Internet ads focused on 10 Democratic members of the House and Senate considered potential no votes. The ads invite people to call lawmakers and urge them to vote for Obama's budget.
MoveOn has been in contact with the White House, including Obama aides Valerie Jarrett and Michael Strautmanis, to "keep them abreast of what we're doing," said Justin Ruben, executive director of the group.
A White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said mobilizing such outside groups is crucial to Obama's agenda. The other side has more money and we need more grass roots and more people." Democratic lawmakers contend the ads won't work.
On a parallel track, Obama's campaign group, now called Organizing for America, is using ZIP codes to reach supporters and ask them to call the person representing them in Congress. The organization also began airing a nationwide cable TV ad on Thursday in support of Obama's budget. Last weekend, Obama campaign supporters fanned out across the country to get people to sign petitions supporting the basic goals of Obama's budget.
Democratic lawmakers contend the ads won't work.
Sen. Evan Bayh, an Indiana Democrat, said that none of the TV advertising would influence his vote. And he questioned whether the ads are consistent with the president's promise of collaboration.

Not so much fun for Democrats when they’re on the receiving end of leftist idiocy. The more ads they run the more they look like big brother ( which is what they are) and over time they will unnerve the voters with their bully tactics.
In our form of gov't, those elected are supposed to "represent" the will of their constituents. In the thugocracy gov't that the Obamanistas are trying to cram down our throats, all that matters is loyalty to the State.
We must all bow down to TOTUS, or else! GRRRRR, I NEVER will!
Something I want to make mention of. You can watch the whole video or go to 5:20 on the video to hear the Obamasheep speak. Now this is what I notice that is interesting, when Republicans run an AD they use a different way of speaking, phrases like, please call your Congressmen, Please write, Please let them know...... yadda yadda yadda.....BUT in the Obama video paid for and produced by Move On.org they don't do it like that at all. The Obama sheep in the video says......
You WILL call, you WILL flood your Congress person's office, you WILL pressure them ....... anyway check it out. For a thinking person I would be offended to the max if our side ran an ad that said....."You WILL" , but see this is how the sheep need to be talked to and treated, they don't think for themselves so they have to be told what to do. The only problem is, Obama treats all of us the same way that he treats his brain dead zombies.
Just one more thing on this. These things I pointed out are things our GOP should be noticing, and Michael Steele should be checking on and then when he is on talk shows or is interviewed point these things out. But he doesn't, and he won't nor will the other rino's in our Republican party that have a voice.
It took me approximately 20 minutes to find this video above after I read the article in the post. Went to Google then to Moveon.org., clicked on their YouTube videos and searched for the most recent one which I figured would be the one discussed in this article.
Could Michael Steele take 20 minutes of his life and do that ? PLEASE! No he can't and won't.
I am usually up very late into the morning hours so just as I am done with doing the posts and ready to go to sleep, it is very early morning such as yesterday Friday. Michael Steele was on mamby pamby Bill Bennett's radio show as a guest host. I am not a huge fan of Bennet only because he is way too weak and I like passion when it comes to our country. ( Rush, Laura, Mark Levin etc.)
Anyway, get this, he starts off the show saying.... " things are just crazy out there" , " so much has been happening"....."does anyone want to talk about anything? "
WTF????? I am sorry but he should have come on to guest host loaded for bear. He should have had folders packed full of shit that Obama has been doing against America to discuss and INFORM. Here is a man that has been handed the opportunity of a lifetime, to transform our party and bring it back to the conservative base, to the things our Founding Farthers wanted for America. And instead he oozes kumbaya from every pore.
IMO we are at war, I pray no gun will be fired, but by God we need to be taking no prisoners in how we fight back, words can slice and dice almost as good as a knife and words can be legally used if stated the right way with facts and with passion that will light up a room. Don't these idiots even wonder why Rush has done so well? Don't they even spend a thought process in trying to see how his passion , facts and humor to close the deal sometimes, are making him more popular then ever to listen to??!!
For those that have a voice, they need to be shaming the Republicans that voted for HR1388, giving names and letting people know what HR1388 is all about. Speak out against what Obama's agenda is not hoping someone won't bring up his name. Not this " everything is crazy out there" baloney.

Your comments are absolutely right WT. Since Reagan left office, the Republican leadership has been sheepish.
Obama is really running his administration like a junta. Strong arm and thuggish tactics will be the rule of the day. Too many Americans will only pay attention to the propaganda and not the methods.

I have exactly zero respect for either party, I have nothing but disgust for the Democrats who have let their party be taken over by Communists and who stand behind them by voting in lockstep. They are the party who has repeatedly elected a Vermont Socialist to office, who have willingly allowed his fifth column to prosper in the House of Representatives. By promoting Socialists-Communists from within we have Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi in the Senate, both CPC leaders running both houses of Congress. They have appointed their CPC henchmen to powerful positions in the cabinet. With the help of George Soros they have their Marxist in place to sign their bills into law. The feckless Republicans have fawned and facilitated their every move by their own support of the so called Rockefeller Republicans, RINO's, it may well have cost us all our freedom.

This goes much deeper than just obama and his youthcorps. I have a theory about obama and what he's doing in the oval office.
First, the election, We all know the media got him elected and who owns the media? george soros. Who ownes obama? george soros. And who ownes george soros? Well, my theory is the chicoms. The chicoms with the help of their puppet george soros used the media's hatred of bush and false charges of racism to guilt people into voting for him and then the chinese make a run on the market which cause the economic downturn and then the fix is in. Now that obama's been elected they (chicoms) will want him to enter into any one-sided u.n. economic or environmental treaty (which will always favor china) tim geithner and obama will spend so much money on the bullshit pretense of "stimulating the economy" and in turn bankrupt America and force us to owing even more debt to china. Then to want to enter a "global currency" which will be handled by either the u.n. or the chinese government. Then holder wants to force us to give up our guns so we'd be powerless to stop the obama youth (this is through using mexican violence and "militia movements". The next step obama will want to take after that is dismantling and dissolving the U.S. Armed Forces so that the chinese will have in esssence no military opposition (we're the ONLY ones who can beat the chinese why do you think they're trying in vain to aquire so much hardware). In short he's an insider for the chinese. They caused the crisis, they put obama in the white house and now he's their puppet and beijing is pulling the strings.
Just for the record I AM NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORIST. But I do have to admit something stinks here. Of course these are MAJOR assumptions I'm making here and I hope to GOD that I'm wrong on this and he's just a communist idiot. But If I'm right they need to be stopped.

I know what you mean too about saying
something and thinking this is going to
sound out there, but the thing is Obama
is nothing like anything we have experienced
and tons of people feel he is a plant. I
sure do and so does my husband. He is not
bright enough to do this all on his own
for one thing, he loved getting every
penny from Soros too. And the whole thing
is the most organized campaign and
presidency in taking over ever, even
the media has commented on how he is
doing things so fast and how he has
every area covered.
If Obama was that good at organizing
etc. Chicago would be the best city
in America and it is only a thug
town with some nice shops. lol
