Sen. Judd Gregg's Press Conference on Withdrawal
Judd Gregg Chooses Principle Over Career
Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) stood up for all Americans — and yes all conservatives — who value limited government and transparent leadership. In withdrawing his name from consideration for Secretary of Commerce, he chose principle over career.
Senator Gregg’s released statement:
“I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.
“However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy.
“Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives.
“I greatly admire President Obama and know our country will benefit from his leadership, but at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position.
“As we move forward, I expect there will be many issues and initiatives where I can and will work to assure the success of the President’s proposals. This will certainly be a goal of mine.
“Kathy and I also want to specifically thank Governor Lynch and Bonnie Newman for their friendship and assistance during this period. In addition we wish to thank all the people, especially in New Hampshire, who have been so kind and generous in their supportive comments.
“As a further matter of clarification, nothing about the vetting process played any role in this decision. I will continue to represent the people of New Hampshire in the United States Senate.”
Courage in Washington doesn’t come cheap, and it doesn’t come easy, so it should be recognized when it occurs. Well done, Senator.
I know we already know this but I want to show you just what a POS, a total jerk Obama is:
Obama Talks About Sen. Judd Gregg Withdrawal and says he is still going to keep trying to get Democrats and Republicans to work together..... ( liar liar pants on fire! )
Obama Takes a Shot at Judd Gregg During Lincoln Banquet... he is speaking of Lincoln but he just has to bring up " Commerce Secretary". Then the audience laughs at the put down of Sen Gregg.
A person that is serious about getting people to " work together" does not go around bashing constantly the very people ( Republicans) he " says" he is trying to reach out to. Example, I do NOT want to get along with democrats, they are the enemy within. Thus you will never see me say how I hope we can all get along. BARF no way! ~ Wild Thing
Wild Thing's comment........
The census power grab being moved out of his department and under the control of Obama and his ilk ( such as Rahm Emanuel ) and the the non-stimulus massive democrat spending bill , must have been the last straw. Good for him!
Also Mike Pence ( God bless him ) and the conservative republicans in the house are contemplating court proceeding regarding the CensusGate.
....Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

That was welcome news about Gregg. He must have realized that Democrats can't be trusted to keep their word and his seat would be replaced with a Democrat.

He was GOPher 'candy' and a token for BRO BHO! GLAD Judd resigned and the Baracknik Stench in the cabinet meetings must have been disgusting... The Baracksheviks took over the upcoming Census process so all Judd was sadly was a symbolic 'bipartisan trophy' so BRO BHO could say he was bipartisan in his administration!

I can see why he didn't want it. The census should not be someone's plaything! Especially NOT Rahm "Dead Fish" Emanuel's. It's obviously a ploy to get the districts redrawn in the favor of the dummys, so we can NEVER win again. It's cold hearted, mean and nasty. Obamanation wants to stay in power forever until he dies and then his girls will take over or he will handpick his successor. He's cold to the bone and I would say he is NOT a Christian or moral man. He is Bealzebub, the Devil's henchman. He is NO Messiah. He's making way for the Antichrist.

I wondered why gregg would have considered that Commerce seat other than an ego trip. I am glad someone talked sense to him. His Senate seat would have been taken by a Dem.
There has to be a Constitutional challenge to this census deal. It can not be allowed to occor. Our Constitution is being destroyed by Obama and the Dems. They will have ACORN write a new one for us.
