DemocRAT Sen. Stabenow Wants Hearings On Radio 'Accountability'
Sen. Stabenow wants hearings on radio 'accountability'; talks fairness doctrine
Senator Stabenow was speaking on the air with liberal talk radio host Bill Press and to his eleven listeners nationwide. - Wild Thing
BILL PRESS: Yeah, I mean, look: They have a right to say that. They’ve got a right to express that. But, they should not be the only voices heard. So, is it time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine?
SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I think it’s absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.
BILL PRESS: Can we count on you to push for some hearings in the United States Senate this year, to bring these owners in and hold them accountable?
SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I have already had some discussions with colleagues and, you know, I feel like that’s gonna happen. Yep.
And there is also this...........
Politico: Sen. Stabenow Wants Hearings On Radio 'Accountability'; Talks Fairness Doctrine
Senator Stabenow's husband, Thomas Athans, is the co-founder of the liberal TalkUSA Radio network and is now the Executive Vice-President of liberal Air America. Liberal talk radio has of course failed miserably every time it has been tried, all the while watching it's conservative counterpart's success soar.
Which might lead one to believe that Senator Stabenow, in addition to her zealous will to slam the fist of government down upon her opponents, has some business skin in the game as well. If you can't beat 'em, censor 'em.
Wild Thing's comment.......
So Stabenow’s family directly profits from any censuring of conservative talk radio and/or giving handouts to lib talk.
To the left Talk radio is a roadblock on the path to Socialism/Communism. Democrats would look VERY VERY bad if they try to silence conservative talk radio, especially in light of the fact that Republicans didn’t utter a word when Air America was launched with all that fanfare, and when MSNBC holds literal Democratic telethons.
....Thank you Richard for sending this to me.

That will be the next loss of liberty. That of freedom of speech. Since Right-wing talk radio doesn't comply with the regimes agenda they will be silenced. Also known as censorship.

It's unfortunate that Senator Stabenow isn't familiar with modern technology. She's unaware there's a new invention called the "Radio Dial" which enables the listener to change the radio channel. If said listener doesn't like what's on the radio channel, this new dial invention allows them to change to another channel.
BTW, Stabenow's husband was busted in a prostitution bust. Three years after he married her, he was on the streets looking for hookers.

Doesn't she have some conflict of interest here?
Just because America would rather listen to Rush, Glenn, Michael Reagan and the like, doesn't give her the right to put her face in our business. They must really be scared shitless of us Republicans otherwise this would not be the problem they've made it out to be. What? Don't like the truth--so what? As they say, "Go away kid, you bother me."

Bill PreSS is another parochial schooled punk that went to prestigious Salesianum Jesuit School in Wilmington Delaware and turned out to be a Cafeteria Catholic leftist in Bidenville CCCP... I watched Bing Crosby in 1944's 'Going My Way' yesterday and told Frau Vader this is how my former church and religion USED TO BE.
- Where have you gone Fr. O'Malley 2009?

Bye bye First Amendment. In a Democrat regime the Bill of Rights is a pesky roadblock. So they just illegally legislate around it and use phoney phrases like "fairness" to cover up their misdeeds.
ight now the Dems are trying to tell me what I can't listen to. Next they will be telling me what I have to listen to. Orwell's office of disinformation is on the way to a radio near you.

Yes she does have a conflict of interest. Her husband has been involved in three(3) failed attempts at left wing talk radio. It seems whoever goes up against Rush is toast.
Al franken is another loser in the talk radio business, so he thought he'd try his luck at Senator, at least now he doesn't have to think, but that would be new for him regardless.

BobF, there is a follow-up on the prostitution story.
Sen. Stabenow's husband walks, prostitute jailed
Woman's attorney: 'There is a disparity between wealth and poverty'

There is a saying that applies to Sen. Stabenow that someone should take her aside and tell to her. That is, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Bottom line, STFU!

So radio stations start losing a lot of money if the dems get there way. Could go two ways:
the govt subsidizes radio stations , therefore bringing forth true "orwellian State radio" , or
the radio stations fight back and lobby against it.
5 years ago I would have gone with the former as playing out but now I'm not so sure. Seems everyone is jumping on the govt. teat with no second thoughts on what it means for freedom of enterprise. it's going to take a lot of "chains" in place before these sheeples get a clue as to what they just did by voting black.
