Newt Considers a Run for RNC Chairman

Newt Gingrich Slams Reporter Ron Allen About Sarah Palin. Checkmate!!!!

Newt Considers a Run for RNC Chairman

Digital Journal

The word among GOP insiders here in Georgia is that Newt Gingrich is considering throwing his name in the hat to be the next Chairman for the RNC.

As Georgia Republican Leadership meet today to plan for the expected run-off of Saxby Chambliss against Jim Martin, my sources tell me Gingrich is having meetings to discuss his own race.

Newt is best known for leading the charge for the Contract with America. It is this famed Contract that has been credited for the Republican take-over of the US House and Senate in 1994. It is also well believed among traditional Republicans that it has been the abandonment of this contract by elected Republicans that has lead to their downfall.

Since his retirement from elected office, Gingrich has stayed involved in the political grind on many different levels. Newt has released several books, founded American Solutions, and has acted as a political analyst appearing on numerous political programs and radio talk shows.

The Republican base in Newt's home state of Georgia still hail him as a hero and hold him in high regard much like national Republicans do Ronald Reagan. Considering the obvious divide among Republican voters, Newt Gingrich just may be the leader they need to help them once again unite. Gingrich has a proven record of understanding the will of the American people and his experience as a leader is a proven matter of record.

Wild Thing's comment.......

We need a conservativee for RNC Chairman. I am so sick of the weak people that have been Chairman and it is killing our party. Also he has been a defender of Sarah all along too.

RNC Chairman is the ideal spot for the architect of the Contract with America. This might be a good idea.

He went rino on the global warming in that ad with Pelosi, and I heard Rush lay into him about it on Rush's show months ago. Thank God for Rush. Maybe it sunk it, maybe that even if he is into this global warming bs, at least don't do stupid kiss up ads with the enemy. Just keep your mouth shut and hug a tree in your yard. LOL

Other then that , that I can think of right now. Newt has been the most consistent conservative messenger in America since Reagan. He may stray off the rightwing reservation from time to time. Newt was a back-bench bomb thrower in Congress for years, until he finally put together a solid coalition of conservatives, advancing the Contract With America and getting the GOP elected to majority of control of the House for the first time in 40 years.

He also loves our Constitution.

And oh there is this too, he is clean and articulate. Sorry I could not resist that one. heh heh

What to all of you think? He used to be really good, if he’s the merciless, smart-strategizing, take-no-prisoners Newt of old and not the new version with the global warming stuff etc.

If you want to let him know how you feel about this, good or bad.

And we all know what his mother called Hillary to Connie Chung!
I think cousin Freddy would be a good choice, too.

I think Newt can pull the Conservatives back together and maybe save the Republican Party.

That said, here's something that happened in 1997 that I find distressing about Newt. This was reported by Thomas Sowell in an article when Newt slammed JC Watts for referring to Jesse Jackson as a "race pimp", which we all know he is.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Commentary/com-1_31_06_TS.html

Back in 1997, when black Republican Congressman J.C. Watts denounced people like Jesse Jackson and then D.C. mayor Marion Barry as "race-hustling poverty pimps," House Speaker Newt Gingrich took it upon himself to apologize to Jesse Jackson.

To apologize for what another man said is to treat that man as if he were your child or your servant. Gingrich then added further insult by inviting Jesse Jackson to join him in his box for the Clinton inauguration for his second term as president.

Pulling the rug out from under your friends, in order to appease your enemies, may seem like clever politics to some people. But what could possibly have led Republicans to think that pro-Jesse Jackson blacks were ever going to vote for them?

Newt can definitely save the Republican Party.

I don't like Newt. But, I think he is one of the few who could actually put the RNC back into the conservative column. His Contract with America was brilliant. It was not Newt's fault that many of the signers of The Contract broke with it and killed the movement.

Newt is very articulate and can take lots of punishment and still fight back. If he can keep his ego under control he is a formidable force against the liberal agenda.

I would definitely support Gingrich as chairman of the RNC.

I too would support Newt heading up hte RNC but I would also like to see some additional changes with strong conservatives. We don't need any more RINO's screwing over us!!!! I think we should give consideration to some of the younger people that have a good understanding of politics and a strong conservative base.

I don't know how to take Newt sometimes he is good, in his defense of Sarah Palin then he turns around and makes that add with Peelosi, and his Health Care plan with Hillary. So where is he on the right or the left.

Yeah, i'd go for him at the RNC helm can't be worse than what we got.

Newt's 'Contract For America' worked for me and I LOVE his Pearl Harbor and Gettysburg novels...
Nobody better for the RNC in my opinion except
USMC Gunny Lee Ermey perhaps! - Dr. Zhivago 2009 -2016? PS: The Elephant is limping and hurting now, big time!

Sure Newt can rally the RNC and bring in new members, he's smart and personable but Newt has his own baggage, he's tainted goods and that's hard to sell.
Don't forget too that he's a globalist and an active member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the organization that "has no affiliation with the U.S. government.” BULL!!!

How can the CFR have NO affiliation with the U.S. Government when almost every Secretary of State since WWII, Secretary of Defense, CIA Directors, National Security Advisors, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is or has been members of CFR? All oriented to the global new world order, let's look at the founding of two organizations The CFR and the UN, both have their roots in Communism. Some have advocated the NAU.

At least 12 CFR members are currently serving as Senators? The current Vice President of the United States is a member as are at least two CFR members currently sitting on the bench of the Supreme Court, Sandra Day O'Connor and Ruth B. Ginsburg.

Do the names Joshua Bolten, Roger Altman, John D. Negroponte and Gen. Colin L. Powell ring a bell? All members!!!

We need to do our homework before resurrecting the same old RNC.

Obama & The CFR

I'm sorry but I can't support Newt any more than I can Colin Powell.

Lynn, yes, I really respected the old Newt and he can be like that again. It is up to him and I hope if he does do this he knows how serious we are about taking back our party. If he holds to being a conservative we it will be good for him to do this.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:00 PM

BobF, thank you for the link and information.

Newt can be great and yet also do things that have made me upset. I agree Bob.

I am learning that no one in office is 100% how I want them to be. But I sure as heck want us to have those that are as close to 100% conservative all the time as much as possible.

So far I have not heard of any others thinking about this. But whoever it is better not be like what we have had in the past and now, they have been horrible.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:07 PM

Miss Chris, I think he can help a lot. I really do, the only thing is he has got to be really conservative like with the Contract with America he did. That should not be that hard, I just don't want him wishie washie. haha

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:12 PM

Tom, I agree, and if he really is considering this then he needs to draw the line in his soul let's say that he will be the man we did like when this happened......his Contract with America.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:15 PM

John, I agree, there are some awesome conservatives out there and the younger ones should be groomed for things like this. Our party really needs to take all of this much more seriously and clean house big time.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:18 PM

Mark, see that is how I feel, when Newt is good he is aweseome! He does not mince words and he says the things I would love someone to say like he did about Sarah Palin with that reporter.

But when he is off and did the ad with Pelosi it sends me into a mini rage at him of disappointment. He did not have to do that, and yet he did and why? To kiss up to the left? He told Rush he really does believe it can't hurt to do some things that will help our enviroment even if he is not into all that Gore is preaching.
But still it is what looks bad and what the left will hold tight to as a weapon against us.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:23 PM

Darth, yes our elephant is really hurting. We have taken hits and a lot of them we didn't have to take because they have come from our own party. sheesh.
I want strength, a bold and strong leader on all levels. That could be possible, I really believe that.
Newt can be like that he has a lot of times in the past, there is also Mike Pence, John Bolton, Jim DeMint, and some others we need to keep telling them when they do good too so they stay strong.

Posted by: Wild Thing at November 7, 2008 06:29 PM

Jack thank you for sharing about Newt and the links and information too.

My number one concern is we have got to have new blood and not just any new blood. But not the kind that has 99% of the time sided with the enemy, favored the rino over the conservative in races and many other things. Things like you brought up are huge and very important to take into consideration too.

I have no idea who else is being considered or even thinking about being RNC chairman.
