A Vote and Pray For Our Country





We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Article. II.


Section. 1.


The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted.
The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chose by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chose the President.
But in choosing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; A quorum for this purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chose from them by Ballot the Vice President.
The Congress may determine the Time of choosing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.
The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

My thoughts and prayers are constantly on those serving our country during this crucial election.

Think of their amazing accomplishments since 9/11 and to this day they continue VOLUNTEERING, leaving many of us speechless, there are no words sufficient to describe such dedication and love of country.

And the wounded soldiers that we know who say, “I’d go back in a heartbeat if they would let me...”. They wish nothing more than to be part of a successful campaign that they were not able to complete.

Our troops deserve the best Commander In Chief and that would be Sen. John McCain. There just is no way that Barack Hussein Obama would be a good CIC, he has no respect for our military and it goes down hill from there in how and what he would do to our military and to our land of the free because of the VERY Brave!

America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. America has many foreign and domestic enemies that are seeking her destruction. I pray all of the enemy’s attempts to steal this election fail.

Our Founding Fathers were acutely aware of the importance of elections. They believed that the faith and character of every individual elected to office was vital to the future health of our nation, and they valued the privilege of representative government under the guidance of Almighty God.

I have cast my vote this morning (was 2nd in line!!!) for continued Freedom of this Great Nation.....the Greatest country on earth....The UNITED STATES of AMERICA!!!!!!!!!! McCain/Palin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sign says it all!!!! It depicts Obama holding his head in shame and disrespect while McCain has his held high and Proud!!!!! The difference between a true man of honor and a piece of shit "wannabe"!!!!

However.....should Obama become the next president of this country, I have faith that we will survive it (just like we survived Jimmy "Do Nothing" Cater) and become the stronger for it. We can never lose sight of our core values or give up!!! I served in the US Navy Construction Battalion (Sea Bees) and our motto has always been "Can Do"!!!! I know that those of us that believe in this fantastic country and all that She stands for will never give up and never turn our backs on the awesome principles laid down to us by our Founding Fathers!!!! We can not let them down nor the thousands who have given their lives so we can enjoy the blessings of FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!

It is critical that we take back the Congress and clean up both the House and Senate!!!!

I have faith. Great words Chrissie and John. Well our vote in California is but a stance but I'm darn sure to take this stand. I'm all about trying to save America and marriage.

One reason I like coming here is because it keeps me strong knowing you all are out there.

I voted to save our Constitution and for our troops.
I see The O as a great wake up call for this country. And now the enemies of the above have been flushed out. Yes, we have a lot of work to do yet but now we certainly know where to focus our efforts, locally as well as nationally.

We will see what this day holds for us. Perhaps the day will end with a McCain/Palin win and a hesitant sigh of relief for Team Theodore. Maybe the day will be another 9/11 and a Marxist will win the presidency. If the latter occurs, we will be in for a rough ride as America slides down a socialist past.

I will continue to pray for America.

I voted and my wife voted this AM. Lets all keep positive thoughts and think of winning. Winning big. Not just the Presidency, but winning in the house and Senate too.

Today is out day, no otherwise today. Just a Republican victory all the way.

The picture comparing Hussein Obama & John McCain defines what's at stake. I agree with Greg that our vote in California amounts to hardly anything more than "taking a stance", but taking a stance is a damn cite better than being apathetic.

My son turned 18 this year so it was his first time voting and he couldn't wait. McCain has at least 2 more votes from California.

My personal observation this morning is good and bad. I have always gone to the polls when they opened in the morning so that nothing that would happen the rest of the day could interfere and make me miss my chance to vote. This morning is the longest I've ever had to wait in line to vote. It would usually would take me no more that 15 to 20 minutes to get in and vote. This morning I waited in line for over an hour. To me that is a good thing, people are voting because they realize how important this election. The bad or not good news is that I have never seen so many black people at a polling place before! Not a good sign as far as I'm concerned.

Hey RAC and Greg, we are also in California, the San Fernando Valley to be specific. If you folks are anywhere nearby, we ought to hook up for dinner or drinks. Oh and we also voted via Absentee Ballot and although our vote for POTUS is useless we are voting against everything else they are asking for. And a definite YES on 8.

Just got back from voting in what can best be described as the belly of a predominantly Obama supporting ethnic Democratic political machine community including cemeteries in Jersey City, NJ. The location was the basement of a public school with five or six separate voting districts and voting booths. It was a much higher turnout than previous presidential elections.

After voting for McCain/Palin I left the voting booth and as I walked passed a name/address checking worker and challenger (both Democrats) I commented that "something was wrong with the voting machine." I said that "I didn't see George Bush's name. I thought that Obama was running against Bush." They were both visibly upset with one mumbling something like "we retired him."

John, I have become more cynical as I get older and disagree that just because we survived Carter that we will survive Obama. This is a much worse situation that a local talk show host described as a runaway Socialist locomotive with three throttles (Obama, Pelosi, Reid) at full speed and no brakes. The unfair Fairness Doctrine, a new Bill of Rights (actually wrongs), appeasement of terrorists and terrorist regimes, redistribution of the wealth, new taxes, destruction of the coal industry, litmus-tested liberal 'legislative' judges, and thousands of socialist executive appointees all over the federal government to name a few. The damage that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will do to the country will be permanent or at least take many decades to recover from. Barack Hussein Obama is no less dangerous to life and liberty than Adolf Hitler.

RAC, thank you so much for sharing about where you are located. It is interesting to learn how each place is first hand.

I agree it is a good thing to see more people voting and also the not so good of the ones more then likely voting for Obama. Maybe there could be a lot of people voting too that have had apathy and not voted that are coming out to vote for McCain/Palin. ....fingers crossed.
