On June 30th, 1950, five days after North Korea invaded South Korea, President Truman signed the Selective Service Extension Act. It continued the draft that had been in effect since 1948 and authorized the call-up of reserve component units for Federal service not to exceed 21 months (later 24 months. 970 units were called and most were under trained, under funded and under supplied. Since Vietnam the United states has relied on an All Volunteer military, a huge part of those volunteers are Reserve and National Guard elements. Seasoned troops Will leave under an Obama regime. Cut funding and like me they'll leave the backup forces. Carter shipped 20 combat ready tanks from my combat ready battalion to Israel, we were told to use jeeps from TMP for tank training, with no replacement gear in sight, I had no military obligation so I turned in my gear and left instead of re-enlisting. I went to war once with shit left over from Korea, we had hell keeping the equipment online there were few and far in between parts and our contemporaries had newer and superior equipment, only the Marines had older equipment, I refuse to go through that again.
Remember this, we are at real war in two foreign countries as well as other hotspots, the Korean war never ended and only an uneasy truce exists, Korea is as bigger threat today than it was back on June 30, 1950, China and Russia are still behind the aggression and we are about to elect a Marxist idiot with Mohammedan leanings. Cut the funds Barney, you and Obama are the real threat to the nation's security.

I wonder if Obama gets elected will there be a mass exodus from the military like there was when Clinton took office? I served during the Clinton Administration. Bill Clinton's signature is on my retirement certificate. I venture to say that under an Obama presidency, Bill Clinton will appear as a strong advocate of the military.

It's said that 80% of Blacks in the military are supporting Obama. The Blacks I've spoken to, the ones in the senior enlisted ranks, don't want Obama as president. They served during the Clinton years and they know it will be worse under Obama.

What the hell is a civilian national security force? Like the Swiss? Without the civility? Does this mean that everyone gets a turn to have a infantry rifle of their very own. Sensitivity training!

I talked to a balck guy at the gym and he said no way too and his main reason he said were three things. The military, the Ayers association and the socialist take from the rich and give to the not working. That is how he put it. He said those were his top three reasons and it went on from there. He is a Veteran he was in the Army.

yatalli, what it means from what I have read further about it is signing up kids and they can turn in their parents and anyone they see doing something wrong. Hitler used it and others. It was also known as the brown shirts.

Switzerland is different, my family came from there and there it is just that anyone from the age of 14 on up is in the military, the real military. They are given a gun, and trained to fight. But the Swiss stay neutral lol in stuff so they don't really use this but they are at the ready always. Plus they have all their highways with land mines under them for protection too. And other things.

This that Obama plans is very dangerous, more then words can say.
