This is very, very bad. If I were able and lived in Wisconsin, I would have the school board up on charges! This is NOT acceptable! This is plain and simple indoctrination of our precious children and the title says it all--Out of Many, One. That is socialism! He says it right there, like we're too stupid to understand what that means.
As a matter of fact, I think I will send this to my step family in Wisconsin and demand they do something about it. I would be up in arms if my daughters EVER brought something home like this.

I bet there is little or no mention of Ronald Reagan in those text books.

Why would they even mention a senator from another state? It sounds like powerful people have worked very hard for several years to set Obama up as our exalted leader. Like Kim Jong-Il.

This is very wrong. There should be nothing more than just a brief mention in textbooks of current politicians. This is an attempt to push a socialist agenda on middle school children. This is a story that the national MSM should make lead stories about. (Of course they won't).

Well it has started already. They, the left, have been re-writing American history for a while now. Now they got obama already in the white house. What happenes if they lose, or worse. They are committed to this loser.

Somebody said, they thought, obama was a shil for Soros or some group on the left. It is almost uncanny how everything has to be written down for him or a teleprompter stuck in his face so he at least seems to have a small amount of intelligence. It is almost as if he were programmed, you get him outside the fence, his box if it were, and he can't talk but babbles. When that happens he can't come up with one cogent idea, thought or word.

It is as if he was reading and memorizing a script from hollywood, and like all todays actors they are handicapped when it comes to talking on their own.

Interesting post and very disturbing. The consequences for all of us are a scary proposition. I wonder how many more "schools" are involved? Public schools involved in this type of activity should be renamed public indoctrination centers.

It really is up to the parents at the school that this happened. Where is their outrage, that is what I wouuld like to know. It should be making news how upset these parents are. Maybe they are afraid of not being PC, but I say BS to that, this is about the future of our country and this is exactly how it gets sold down the river of socialism.Inch by inch then they wonder what happened.

The book in question is an English book. The article in question is a speech Obama gave during the 2004 National convention. It is used as part of a lesson plan on how to write a good speech. It has nothing to do with Obama as a candidate, as it was published well before he was the 2008 Democratic nominee (June 30, 2008, according to the ISBN Search I did).

Unfortunately, it seems that most people just went with their kneejerk reaction to the textbook. So far, it has been called "cult worship of the Messiah" and been used to compare Obama to Kim Jong-Il.
