Anti-Iran Rally Turns Into Anti-Obama Rally (We Want Sarah!)
Jewish Groups Furious That Protest Against Ahmadinejad Was, At Times, A Pro-Palin, Bash-The-Dems Affair
Politics and diplomacy were not a good mix at Monday's protest rally against Iran at the United Nations.
Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin didn't participate in the "Stop Iran Now" rally and there were a lot of hard feelings about it.
It was a simple sign that read "We Want Sarah. Shame On The Rally Organizer."
Howard Webber from Brooklyn held it.
"As important an event as this is, you needed a unity of Democrats and Republicans to show Ahmadinejad that we're not going to accept a nuclear Iran."
Buddy Macy of Little Fells, N.J., felt much the same way.
"I'm so disappointed, upset," Macy said. "She would have brought 10,000-20,000 more supporters of Israel. People who were curious were stopped because of partisan action."
The brouhaha started after Clinton pulled out after she learned Palin was invited. Three organizations supporting the rally threatened to pull out unless Palin was disinvited. She was but organizers didn't stop there.
They were furious Monday about the political signs brought by some at the rally, like an anti-Obama sign that said, "Jews Against Obama & Ahmadinejad."
"I am upset by the sign because this is a non-political event," said Janice Shorenstein, president of the Jewish Community Relations Council. "We are here today to cry out against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, not political. American elections are not part of this event."
Congressman Anthony Wiener disagreed.
"I think this is a classic political event in the best sense of the word. Politicians from all corners come here to speak out against Iran," Wiener said. "I think it would have been fine for Sarah to speak. We just needed someone of equal stature from the Obama campaign to speak."
The question is what are the political repercussions not to have politicians speak at the rally?
"Republicans benefitted more than the Democrats did," political consultant Hank Sheinkopf said. "Why? Sarah Palin wanted to be there, but it looks like she was purposely told not to and rejected. It gives her standing, particularly among those people who are thinking about voting Republican anyway."

LOL tuff! The only Jewish people that would be THAT ticked off about Sarah Palin's name being mentioned would be Democrats. Democrats that voted for Kerry. Gore, Bill Clinton and now will be voting for Obama.
Sarah Palin has the Israel Flag in her office in Alaska, does Obam have a flag of Israel anywhere? NO he has Che poster on one of his campaign offices walls. He wants to sit down with the President of Iran and have a touchie feelie meeting of how wonderful the Islam calll to prayer is to him. The Obama campaign supports Ahmedinejad, the Hams and the PLO.
There are amazing and wonderful Jewish people and they are also conservatives and are excited about Palin and were upset that she was disinvited to this rally at the UN. Those that demanded to disinvite Palin, every one of them was a Democrat for Obama. And they disgust me !

This woman is an idiot!!! Oh Ms. Shorenstein, politics have everything to do with the support of Israel. Obama is not and will ne ver be on the side of Israel! Janice Shorenstein thinks putting her head under the covers will make the bogeyman go away. Sadly, there is a pattern here.

The DNC hates Israel almost as much as it hates redneck Christians like me. How any Jew could vote for the party that ran Joe Lieberman out is beyond me. But they do.

It is a political event Ms. Shorenstein or else you wouldn't be there. Are you thinking of becoming an Apostate? Muzzies just love sweet little apostates especially from the Jewish faith. Maybe a year long stay at Sderot with peacemaking demonstration excursions to Gaza to truly demonstrate your beliefs are in order.
For 19 years one Jewish coworker left on his vacation every year to serve in the Israeli Army, that is support, who amongst the Jewish community of New York shares that faith and dedication? You president of the Jewish Community Relations Council Janice Shorenstein, have put partisan bullshit ahead of world safety in your own small petty political correctness and expect my support. Do you also deny Christians support in the cause against this madman? It's obvious that a few in the rally understood and condemned both Obama and Ahmadinejad, wouldn't want to offend a tyrant or his supporter with the truth now would we. Not only have you feckless assholes lost me as a supporter don't whine and snivel when your precious Democrats sell us out. Meanwhile you can bask in the safe glow of the mushroom cloud Ahmadinejad promises and hide in the hallowed halls of your wonderful UN.

Horace, your right, I agree with all you said. Several of my Jewish friends and they are conservartives are just as upset as we that are Christian conservatives are about this.
When people like Steven Speilberg make such awesome films about the Holocaust, and Barbara Striesand and others, and then turn around and backj Obama one has to wonder about their sanity or anyones that is for him, Christian or Jew alike. I will never understand and I sure have tried to figure it out. haha

Israel will have to reconcile with a Nuclear Iran, and Biden is the Foreign Relations expert. This is nuts. This is how they would handle the middle east. They would lose it.
This is crazy. The Israeli's won't put up with that kind of non-sense.
