Obama Speech Stage To Resemble Ancient Greek Temple

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

Politicians in past elections have typically spoken from the convention site itself, but the Obama campaign liked the idea of having their man speak to a larger, stadium-sized crowd not far from where the Democratic National Convention is being held, at the Denver pro basketball arena.

Obama was taking a page from the campaign book of John Kennedy in 1960 when the future president delivered his acceptance speech to 80,000 people in the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall.

Democratic convention organizers said the theme for the evening is "Change We Can Believe In," which has been a consistent message of Obama's presidential campaign

Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson will sing the national anthem that night.

Wild Thing's comment..........

Wow, talk about a huge ego. You can’t make this stuff up. This is incredible. It should be a Roman temple. The convention is more like a scene from “Caligula.”
Caligula had delusions of grandeur. Obama thinks he's the world's Colossus. Nothing is big enough to define him!

"Those whom God wishes to destroy, he first makes mad." ---Euripides

Will he waft from amidst the columns and dance, like Isadora Duncan? hmmmmm let's see there’s Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and now Obama, god of Hope. YIKES!

Obama as an effete Athenian against the Spartan McCain.

A Nairobi hut would be cheaper don't you think? hahaha

Comments

The following is from an article on Greek Temples. It is obvious that Obama sees himself as a god and the only one capable to protect and sustain the American community. He is an egomaniac in need of psychiatric help.

"The Role of the Temple"

"Most religious buildings today are intended for congregational worship, where groups of people get together on a regular basis to celebrate their god and receive spiritual comfort. Ancient Greek temples were rarely used this way. They were meant to serve as homes for the individual god or goddess who protected and sustained the community.

The god or goddess was represented by a cult image ...."

Greek temple, that fits sorta like what the greeks say about sex, its a pain in the ass.

"The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts" or Adolf Hitler the Sports Palast in Berlin.

According to Ben Stein this is all to familiar to Jews.

Albert Speer was a big fan of the classical style, and also a big fan of...well, a Big State

Architecture represents attitude, This was no mistake. The clods surrounding this fool are play acting, and power mad. Even if Obama was competent, that should be a red flag.

This is way out of control...as Mark says, this kind of thing has been seen before, and the Jews remember it well.

Good comment WT.

I realize these conventions are basically pep rallies, but this is going beyond a rally. It is now worship. A lot of it is self worship by Obama. A rational person would be embarrassed by this over promotion. But hey, it is for the state, right? Seig Heil!

Roman yes. I am seeing parallels between America now and the Roman Empire. The government is so absorbed with its power and is creating the ruination of this country. We are being destroyed from within. We are burdened with onerous taxes. Any descent will be increasing discouraged if not eliminated. We and our children are being raped by the politicians. Unfortunately both political parties care not about America or its people but only about the party. Very sad.

Les, thank you for the information and thank you for the link with the graphic.
Yes his ego is begging for all of this to be a spectacular. haha Humble he is not.

Mark, thanks for that from Ben Stein. Yes I bet a lot of Jews are especially not happy about this and lots of memories being brought to the front again.

Rhod, I agree it is way out of control. It was ego enough to want to change the location for his speech, then add all of this in.....well.....there is something truly sick about the whole thing. And scary too of things to come.

Jim, it sure is, I wonder if they are going to throw in some lazer lighting along with it, like fake lightening coming from the sky, since it will be dark outside.

Tom, thank you.
I agree a lot really is self worship and that really is a sickness that does not need to be in the Oval Office.

Posted by: Wild Thing at August 27, 2008 11:47 PM

Bob, yes it is very sad. They forget that it is a privilege to be voted in to serve in government and instead they have clung to the power it brings and put away that they serve for we the people and for America, not for themselves. It is very sad, sick and scary.

Jack, LOL good one.

Now he thinks he's Zeus? He wouldn't make a pimple of Zeus's butt!
I was just writing my niece who thinks Obamanation is the greatest thing since sliced bread and told her some things she might not understand about him. She's only 20 for crying out loud.
These youngsters want everything given to them for doing nothing. And Obamanation wants to put them there so deep, they'll never climb out of the poverty hole.
Beware the beast man, for he shall make a waste land of his lands and yours.
America won't be America anymore.

Google 'The Obama File'
WOW

Lynn I agree with you sooooo much.

Nicholas's brother is voting for Obama because he wants big government and for the government to be in control of people's lives, handouts etc. I feel so badly because Nicholas agrues with him a lot and can't get through to him.
