Lacking In Good Judgement and Experience Obama Seeks To Be Worshiped
Greek Tragedy?
So all the buzz today was supposed to be about two big Wednesday speeches -- Bill Clinton’s and Joe Biden.
Why, then, is everyone in Denver talking about stagecraft?
It’s simple: Reporters got their first glimpse of the stage where Barack Obama will deliver his speech tomorrow night at Invesco Field. Reuters described the set as similar to a "Greek temple."
Said one Democrat: "This is a disaster of mythical proportions." Said another: "It's not enough that he wants to be president -- he wants to be Zeus." Said the first: "Will he send down thunderbolts from the mountain?"
Those are the Democrats -- though assuredly not Obama partisans. Cue the Republicans: The RNC blasted around an e-mail referring to the "Temple of Obama."
"Tomorrow you're going to see Obama come down from Olympus to be among us mere mortals," Michael Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland, told reporters in Denver.
Senior Obama advisers dismiss the comparisons. There will be columns, they say, but it won’t look like a Greek temple -- or even the White House portico."It looks like any state capitol," one adviser tells ABC News. "It's a bunch of columns."
For the candidate who brought you his very own faux-presidential seal, this is not a good perception. Obama aides insist that the set is staying, and that it won't look as bad as it sounds right now; the real backdrop, they say, will be his supporters.
It raises anew the larger issue: After Berlin, and the "Celebrity" ads, does Obama want to accept the nomination in front of a screaming crowd of 75,000 people?
Reports indicate the stage will be configured like a Greek temple with giant pillars aligning the forum. When Obama is announced, he is expected to emerge from in between the Greek-style columns to address what certainly will be a frantic throng. There have been concerns voiced by some Democrats who believe Obama is seen as an elitist who is out of touch with common Americans. The setting for his acceptance speech will only add credence to that notion. Obama's appearance before that adoring throng will create images of the surreal.
It is an over-the-top glorification of a man who has accomplished little in public life to deserve the adulation.
Has He Lost His Mind?

The Berlin folly -- in English. The Superbowl Halftime Show -- without the game.
What's the finish? Maybe Obama’s got Zhang Yimou to do the hidden-rope trick, and have him lifted, Beijing-style, to the heavens when he’s done. Will he reappear three days later at the Bird’s Nest?
Or maybe he'll just do a Napoleon and coronate himself. By the time Napoleon made himself emperor, he had won the Battles of Lodi, of Arcole, of Rivoli, of the Pyramids and of Marengo. And had promugulated the Napoleonic Code. He had yet to write a single autobiography.

Wild Thing's comment.........
This is Obama's idea, I heard on TV that he and his camp came up with it on the plane during his Obama semi ego tour.
So much for Obama not wanting to be thought of as elitist.

Barack Obama's ego has no bounds. According to the Daily Mail, a full-scale replica of the Air Force One fuselage was brought to Invesco Field before Mr Obama speaks.

Bill Clinton and Joe Biden would like people to believe that Barack Obama has the judgement and temperment to be President because he has been right on all major issues and John McCain is all wrong. They, including Obama himself, compare him to President Kennedy.
Well, let's remember President Kennedy's judgement and results in office. He didn't listen to the experts and withdrew air support for the Bay of Pigs and doomed it to failure. The Cuban missile crisis brought us razor thin close to a nuclear WWIII. The Berlin Wall went up on his watch without opposition. And, the first troops and long term commitment to Vietnam began by JFK and his administration.
Do we really want to trust the judgement of a Greek Temple building Barack Obama with no executive experience to deal with global terrorism and the leaders of Russia, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and other rogue nations including those in the western hemisphere?
Democrats like to say that McCain would be a third Bush term. Well, Obama would be a second Carter term. Remember the Iran hostage crisis, long gas lines, and runaway inflation crippling the economy?
NOBAMA 2008!

I saw a picture of the stage on one of the cable news shows today.
Senior Obama advisers dismiss the comparisons. There will be columns, they say, but it won’t look like a Greek temple -- or even the White House portico. (that's a crock)
Wouldn't it be funny if there was a thunderstorm when he goes on stage and a "thunderbolt" came out of the sky and hit his little temple?

He's arrogant, he's also from the same party that brought us FDR, about all that over the top political arrogance and power, what happened to The Kingfish? Some of the Dems are a bit queasy over the choice ramrodded by the DNC but not nauseous enough to defect. Invesco Field could become a mosque after this imam leaves it.

So what are they saying to the peans, the public: "You are nothing without Ho-bama". They are elevating him to a god, godlike status all bow down and pray so he don't strike you dead. And Peans are stupid enough to believe this crap.
This reminds me of Leni Riesenstahl(sp) the nazi who produced the big Nazi Party rally in 1934, 'Triumphe des Willens' Triumph of the Will, or Yes we can. My god the simiarities are freightening. If the themne song is 'Ride of the Valkyres' then we are all in trouble.

Mark, Yikes I forgot about the music part of this.......
"If the themne song is 'Ride of the Valkyres' then we are all in trouble."
I agree, this is a huge waring of things to come if he wins.

How about his censorship? He sure doesn't like his ties to Annenberg and Bill Ayres brought to the surface. The future is here: http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/obama_campaign_confronts_wgn_r.html

He is so full of crap. He is not Jesus, Moses, Noah, God, Adam or any other God. Anyone remember Star Trek The Undiscovered Country? It wasn't God they found, but a demon in God's clothing. Beware the man of a thousand faces. He shall be our undoing. This spectacle is just so stupid. And won't you know it, the dummys will blame the republicans if Gustav hits New Orleans during their convention. Yeah, Bush controls the weather. Sure he does. That makes him God, doesn't it for only God can control the weather.

I don't think I could find a better place for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - A former Marine accused of killing unarmed Iraqi detainees was acquitted of voluntary manslaughter Thursday in a first-of-its-kind federal trial.
The jury took six hours to find Jose Luis Nazario Jr. not guilty of charges that he killed or caused others to kill four unarmed detainees on Nov. 9, 2004, in Fallujah, Iraq, during some of the fiercest fighting of the war.
The verdict left the 28-year-old defendant in tears. His mother, family and friends cried so loud the judge smacked his gavel in a call for order.

Tincan Sailor, I am so glad, thank you for sharing about this American hero.

Tincan Sailor,
Thanks for the info on the jury verdict. I made a post on this on my site on 8/24 which was the first I had heard of it, but nothing more until now. If you have a link hit my site and post it as a comment. Now they should bring the prosecutor to trial.
Many thanks,
Bob
