Carter: McCain ‘Milking’ POW Experience
Former President Carter: McCain ‘Milking’ POW Experience
Former President Jimmy Carter said Thursday that John McCain is “milking every possible drop of advantage” from his time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, USA Today reported Thursday.
Carter focused on McCain’s interview earlier this month with author and pastor Rick Warren at his parish, the Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif. McCain used every question, whether it was about religion, domestic or foreign affairs, to talk about his five-and-a-half years as a POW, Carter claimed.
“John McCain was able to weave in his experience in a Vietnam prison camp, no matter what the question was,” Carter, a 7-year Naval officer, told the paper. “It’s much better than talking about how he’s changed his total character between being a senator, a kind of a maverick at the time, and his acquiescence in the last few months with every kind of lobbyist pressure that the right wing Republicans have presented to him.”
In the interview that came before Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic convention in Denver, Carter also talked about Obama’s challenges facing the lingering effects of racism in America, the ability of the Clintons to bring their supporters over to Obama. He also decried Sen. Joe Lieberman’s decision to “abandon” the Democrats by speaking at the Republican National Convention next week.
I would hope that the Democrats could have enough senators elected in November so that we would not any longer need to include Joe Lieberman among the senators," Carter said.
Carter called Hillary Rodham Clinton's speech at the convention Tuesday "superb" but questioned her for pointing out her accomplishments in some areas and merely saying that Obama shared those concerns.
Carter said former president Bill Clinton's speech Wednesday was "perfect." Carter said the two speeches took pressure off Obama by uniting the party and ensuring that Clinton supporters would support Obama.
Wild Thing's comment........
Traitor Carter is so full of it, if anyone milked their military experience it was Hanoi Kerry and he did it to the max. Try again peanut breath, better yet , leave the country and NEVER come back.
Next week is going to be really painful for Jimmuh.
I find it disgusting that this POS leftist appeaser who unleashed Islam terror on the world actually has a US Navy ship named after him!
Carter is a bitter, evil,. supporter of dictators washed up antisemitic hack.

Can you imagine the disgrace and embarrassment of the poor sailors who have to sail on the USS Jimmy Carter.

First, I heard McCain mention his stay at the Hanoi Hilton I think twice. The campaign started almost two years ago. Carter left the Navy to run that family farm because his family didn't trust Billy to run it. Must have been a real hardship that one.
Second, Carter never said a word when Kerry was self-promoting his weekend over in Vietenam. Carter never mentionded Kerry's self promoting and Kerry is the only one I know of, who made his own movies in vietnam.
But to say that McCain is milking his time as a POW ? Regardless how old he is, 5 and 1/2 years in a hell hole like that is a good chunk of your life and not to be reminded of it everyday is probably a challange in itself.
Carter is a sorry excusse for a human being.

And what about the magazines and the killer bunny Jimmy? HMMM? You brought that up time and time again. And the UFO that chased you, too. And you killed this nation with taxing big oil you numbskull. You are a dangerous man and you are senile, sir. You need to be reprimanded to a state run mental health facility for a thorough investigation of your mind. You only do Habitat for Humanity now because you forced so many out of their homes when you were our most unremarkable, most unforgiven, most hateful President we ever had.
I had to have ketchup as a vegetable at school lunch. I hate ketchup to this day! My parents could barely afford the groceries for 4 kids after you took office and we had to move to cheaper housing to keep from being evicted. So blow it out your butt. Go away, Jimmy, you ill conceived spawn of a hillbilly.

jimmy Carter literally doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. He proved it as the worst president in modern history and he proves it every time he says something.
Keep talking Jimmy. You are killing the Dems.

Jimmy Carter was the worst of Presidents. He is a poor excuse of a human being and a traitor to the country. The fact that the Democrats let him speak at their convention honoring and revering this supporter of global terrorists and terror says a lot about their party and candidate for President, Barack Hussein Obama.
Carter's attack of John McCain was the ranting of a hate-filled political hack of almost total diminished capacity. Let's put this presidential campaign in real Jimmy Carter perspective.

Right.
And if Carter had had one more helicopter, he would have won in 1980.
What a nasty, nasty man.

There are those who have accomplishments behind them. Then there are those that have great accomplishments behind them. These people have every right to let all know about them. Then there are those who have no accomplishments only huge failures to look back on. These people have nothing left but to denigrate those who did accomplish things in life. I believe that Jew hating, terrorist helping Jimmy falls among the third group and needs to be put out to pasture where he can’t make an even bigger jerk of him self.

BobF, your right, they never should have named a ship after Cater. He is a traitor and our troops are heroes.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:21 AM
Mark, you said it all and your absolutely right on all you said.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:27 AM
Lynn, I forgot about that, the killer bunny and the UFO. And your so right about what you said about Carter.
I wish when some of the politicians wanted to come down hard on Carter and do something with his passport that it would have been taken seriously. He should be seen by all as a traitor to our country.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:32 AM
Tom, he really is the worst.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:36 AM
Les, he is that too like you said..... a hate-filled political hack. Gosh I would love to say these things right to his face.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:40 AM
Trish, yes, I would love to see him locked up in a dungeon.
Posted by: Wild Thing at August 31, 2008 12:43 AM
