UN Human Rights Chiefs Tell Britain "Be nicer to Muslims"
You must be nicer to Muslims, Britain is told by UN human rights chiefs
Britain was told yesterday by a United Nations committee to take firm action to combat 'negative public attitudes' towards Muslims.
The nine-member human rights committee also criticised some of the UK's antiterror measures.
The body, which is composed of legal experts, said it was concerned ' negative public attitudes towards Muslim members of society' continued to develop in Britain.
The Government 'should take energetic measures to eliminate this phenomenon and ensure that authors of such acts of discrimination on the basis of religion are adequately deterred and sanctioned'.
The committee expressed concern over the Government's plans to extend pre-trial detention of terrorist suspects from 28 to 42 days. Suspects should be brought to court 'within a reasonable period of time, or released'.
Those suspected of being involved in terrorism and subject to control orders and curfews limiting their movements should be 'promptly charged with a criminal offence' and their lawyers given access to the evidence against them, it added.
The committee also called on the Irish Republic to open up its largely Roman Catholic primary school system to secular-education. It said Dublin 'should take measures to help women avoid unwanted pregnancies so that they do not have to resort to illegal or unsafe abortions'.
The committee made its comments in response to reports from the UK and Ireland on how they were carrying out their obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The committee has members from Britain, Ireland, Australia, Benin, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Mauritius and Sweden. They are expected to be independent of their governments.

The study also found that two in five Muslims at university support the incorporation of Islamic sharia codes into British law.The YouGov poll for the Centre for Social Cohesion (CSC) will raise concerns about the extent of campus radicalism. “Significant numbers appear to hold beliefs which contravene democratic values,” said Han-nah Stuart, one of the report’s authors. “These results are deeply embarrassing for those who have said there is no extremism in British universities.”
The report was criticised by the country’s largest Muslim student body, Fosis, but Anthony Glees, professor of security and intelligence studies at Buckingham University, said: “The finding that a large number of students think it is okay to kill in the name of religion is alarming."

My country will REALLY need to sort this out and soon. We Brits will not out up with this nonsense much longer. We are VERY nice, extremely nice, TOO nice to all sorts of misfits. THAT'S our problem. That is not to say that ALL Muslims are misfits. But it's surely time for the good guys in their midst to speak up and sort it out.
They've had plenty of time.
If they don't move soon to de-radicalise the idiot kids in their (our) midst we might be forced to do it for them.
It'd help if we had ANY major party with the necessary to take the bull by the horns. Sadly we do NOT have one such major party. The Conservatives are just as soft and impotent on this as Labour.
And meanwhile Brown shuffles from one disaster to the next.
I DO believe that Tony Blair saw this Islamist problem clearly. One of the reasons he had to go was that he tried to raise our awareness of it, particularly in his last two years as prime minister. THAT, to the Left of his party, whose inner-city vote is largely dependent on ethnic minorities, was not on!
They were wrong. Blair, as so often before, was right.

The only way to have less negative attitudes towards Islam lies in the hands of Muslims. They do nothing themselves to foster a positive attitude and allow th Islamists to create an ever deeper picture of Islam as a cult of hatred, submission and death. Will be visiting your site BlairSupporter.

Demand, demand, demand. The Un and muslims always demand from the West. I have never known or heard of either entity offering, just demanding. If we had strong leaders this crap would have been stopped long ago. However, political correctness, a form of weakness, has taken over in the West.
Some day, if it is not too late, we may get get a leader like John Bolton. Bolton basically told the UN where to go. For those actions he was fired. That is reason enough for me to think very highly of Bolton.

Yeah we should be nicer to them, Why to lower our guard? So they can cut our heads off ? Maybe if we start stepping on them more often they may get the message that we are tired of putting up with their backwards, gutteral, foul, and disgusting religion.
We spank our kids and CPS show up to lock us up, the muzzies they don't have that problem they just shoot or stab the offending youngsters, and CPS looks the other way.
