For Rev. Jeremiah Wright The Hits Keep Coming
Northwestern rescinds honorary degree offer to Rev. Wright
Northwestern University has withdrawn its offer of an honorary degree to the former pastor of Democrat Barack Obama.
A university official says the school had offered the Rev. Jeremiah Wright an honorary Doctorate of Sacred Theology.
But vice president for university relations Alan Cubbage now says the offer has been rescinded because of the controversy surrounding Wright. He also says the school wants "to ensure that the celebratory character of commencement not be affected."
Wright is the former senior minister at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. His criticisms of the United States have drawn criticism to Obama's presidential campaign.
A phone call to Wright's home wasn't answered.

Will the ACLU / NAACP and Nation of Islam and CAIR object to this liberal university NOT being... POLITICALLY CORRECT? This is a weird deal with liberal NU NOT giving Pastor Jeremiah 'Wrong' his honorary degree? Wright's been wronged??

I was just wondering if Obmanation and Jermy cooked this up to make Obamanation look good--that he's taking the "High" road and saying how he denounces all this hate filled verbiage from a foul mouthed asshole.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
I would love to say it wasn't that, but the fact that it's the same banter between them over and over again makes me think it.

Honorary degrees should be done away with. They are over issued to anyone who gains a bit of fame. The fact that Northwestern U. WAS going to give one to rev Jermiah shows how ridiculous some of those honoraries are.
Old rev Jerimiah isn't pc right now, so the institution of "higher learning" being cowardly and Leftist like most universities, now backpeddals and rescinds it's freebie.
Heh, heh. I want rev. Jerimiah and Michelle Obomba to keep their mouths motoring and their scornful mugs on camera for the next 6 months. They are doing more to defeat the "Magic Negro" than the RNC or McCain can ever figure ot.

Aw hell, an honorary for Wright withdrawn? He just has to go to the committee for the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, commonly "identified with" the Nobel Prize, they have a warm welcome for despots and anti Americans like him, including the morally and mentally challenged Jimmah Cartah.

Lynn, I was wondering that too and I go back and forth in my mind that it could have happened like that. The only thing is that it has damaged Wrighit a whole lot and even some of the black churchs have complained about Wright. But I still don't trust either of them and what they are capable of doing.
