A former Army Muslim chaplain at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, who was cleared of spy accusations is now a Democratic National Convention delegate pledged to Sen. Barack Obama.
Former Capt. James J. Yee was among the delegates who were elected by precinct representatives Saturday at the party's 9th Congressional District convention at North Thurston High School.
Others chosen at the gathering were Zach Smith, a former supporter of ex-Sen. John Edwards who is now pledged to Clinton, and Natalie Stevens, an alternate pledged to Obama.
Yee, a West Point graduate, was accused in 2003 of being part of a spy ring at the U.S. prison for suspected terrorists in Guantanamo Bay. He spent 76 days in solitary confinement before being exonerated and later resigned from the Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
Yee now lives with his wife and daughter in Olympia, south of Fort Lewis, where he was assigned before and after his ordeal.
The experience left him as "living proof that civil liberties have been eroded since 9/11," Yee told The Olympian newspaper on Monday.
He said that during the gathering Saturday, "I came out and basically reiterated that Sen. Obama is really the only candidate that consistently campaigns on rejecting torture without exception, on closing Guantanamo Bay, restoring habeas (corpus) and adhering to the Geneva Conventions."

Holy jumping cat turds! This only makes it appear even more so that Obamanation is a muslim! They want the world so badly that they'd do anything to have it. If I were Obamanation I would not be taking those delegates. I would do whatever it takes to get as far away from them as possible. I know it's not nice to be prejudiced against someone's religion, but why are the American people selling her down the river for some cheap trinkets?

This product of inferior breeding got off because in order to prosecute, they would have had to release classified documents. They had no choice but to release him and give him his honorable since he wasn't prosecuted.
All his accusations against the troops at Gitmo are nothing by hearsay of terrorists being held. He took what enemies of his country said and accused his country based on their accusations.

If Obama gets elected we will certainly get an idea of how many muslims are in America. The official govt stats say about 1%. Thats like the stats that say only 10mil illegals.
This guy Lee is another Taliban Johnny Walker type, only Lee got away with treason like BobF points out. Obama's buddies, associates and supporters are sure a hell of a list of crooks, traitors and America haters.

G knew him down at Guantanamo a few years back, WT. I think we talked about it then. G and everyone else suspected something was wrong with Yee, and this was before the incident there. No one was surprised when he came up on charges.

BobF, thanks and yes if nothing else is an ad not to be a democrat it would be the kind of people that belong to their party. Our has some bad ones too but few and far between that's for sure. And none as bad as the dems have.
