Top cleric vows crushing response if Iran attacked

A top cleric on Friday vowed that Iran would deal a knock-out blow to what he called maniacs in the United States and Israel if they ever attacked the Islamic republic.
"If maniacs in Washington or Tel Aviv seek to take action, the Iranian nation will slap them so hard they will not get off the floor," hardline cleric Ahmad Khatami said in a Friday prayer sermon carried live on state radio.
The Pentagon on Wednesday denied reports of new plans for military options against Iran, which is accused by the United States of seeking nuclear weapons, sponsoring terrorism and meddling in Iraq.
Iran vehemently denies all the charges.
However, Washington has never ruled out a military option in a bid to thwart Iran's nuclear drive, which Tehran insists is solely aimed at peaceful energy production.
The cleric said the fact that the United States had not yet attacked Iran was because it "has not been possible, not that it did not want to."
"Death be upon" Israel for "celebrating the killing of innocent people" in the Gaza Strip, Khatami also said. Iran does not recognise Israel, and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for the annihilation of the Jewish State.
"Israel should know that these pressures will pave the way for another Intifada which will turn the Israelis' day into night," Khatami said.
Israel, the Middle East's sole if undeclared nuclear power, accuses Iran of seeking atomic weapons and has urged tougher punitive measures against Tehran, which is already under three sets of UN Security Council sanctions for its refusal to halt uranium enrichment.
Khatami also took a swipe at US Democrat presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton for her threat to "totally obliterate" Iran if it launched a nuclear attack on Israel.
"Shame on you that your presidents should be weak-willed servants of Israel," he said.

Ahmad Khatami is full of it. Iran has been sending weapons, and terrorists to Iraq to kill our American soldiers. FUGEDABODIT!!!! Ahmad Khatami, first of all Iran is killing our soldiers, sending the weapons and terrorists from Iran in Iraq...... hello Ahmad I said from IRAN. Then the nuke thang' and you think America will sit by and just let this happen. Hello-o-o press ONE for a reality and press TWO for look up ....you will one day be seeing your sky light up like the 4th of July you freakazoid Moslem.

Yep---us idiot Americans can probably fire a weapon better than any of their so-called military. And we won't drop our weapons for anyone.
And don't forget that Ted Nugent's Kamp for Kids attendees could, too.
I don't know if this Mahdman realizes we don't have to destroy in order to bring them to their knees. I guess he doesn't realize that we are a peaceful nation. We don't want war anymore than anyone else, but to me, it seems that those whackjobs in charge over there sure want a fight, no matter what the cost.
I would love to see embargoes against Iran, Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, et cetera. No more food rations, medical rations, immunizations for the children, American teachers, nothing. Let them cry awhile, give them all a time out in the corner. Let them realize it for themselves that they brought this on themselves with their asshole attitudes.
Things like this just burn me up!

Gosh, I went deer hunting many years ago in very heavy snow with a .300 Win Mag. in big Brown Bear country, up pops a small buck I snapped off one round breast high into the snowdrift, the buck went down, there was not enough undamaged meat to salvage, F=MxA it was not a light bullet but it started it's expansion in the snow with devastating results. There are a few rednecks like me still left out there with our rules of engagement. It's amazing what a loading press, some extra brass and a little innovation can cook up, FMJ my butt!!! Roll your own. I like the AT&T slogan 'Reach out and touch someone'.
