Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Cancels Florida Appearance

A Florida church has canceled an appearance by Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., citing security concerns and the anticipation of a media circus.
According to media accounts, Rev. Earl Mason told reporters at a press conference Tuesday that he asked Wright to stay in Chicago instead of lead a three-day revival celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace.
The revival was to be Wright’s first public appearance since his remarks that were critical of, among other issues, American domestic and foreign policy surfaced on the Internet.
Wright has been a longtime staple at church revivals around the country. He has made regular appearances at the Temple Terrace church because of his longtime friendship with Mason.
The Rev. Earl Mason cited security concerns and said the three-night revival featuring Wright was turning into an "event" and media circus, rather than the celebration of the church's 10th anniversary that it was intended to be, so Mason asked him to stay in Chicago.
Tampa police said the department was prepared for Wright’s visit and did not recommend the event be canceled.
The Tampa Police Department was prepared to handle the visit from the time he landed at the Tampa International Airport, through the event and until his departure from our city,” the recording said. “We were surprised to hear of his cancellation."
According to police, officers had scouted the location, gathered intelligence and put a security plan into place employing both patrol and plainclothes officers. “We had additional officers on standby if there was any unusual activity or threats,” the recording said.
Wright is scheduled to receive an award from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Tex. on Saturday after contributing to a panel discussion about the state of the black church.

This is so funny, democrats just cannot tell the truth if their life depended on it. Last night this story was on local TV news. The police said just like the article above that they had done the preparation to be ready for whatever could happen. Then the news played a video of the minister of the church , Rev. Earl Mason, and he said the church cancelled Wright's visit because the church could not get the police to say they would protect them and give them security. The only thing the police told the church they would have to take care of getting their own security for would be the parking lot. I guess the church did not want to spend the money for that part of it.
But why the lie, that the police said no. I am glad though it is better that he does not come to Florida, he can stay far away with his rantings as far as I am concerned.
My guess is though that Obama's campaign told Wright NOT to have any speaking engagements for awhile so we will see if Wright goes to Texas or not or will they cancel that one too.

Either Lynn is spot on as to the true reason or Rev. Earl Mason's equivocation is hiding his preaching of the same message and he doesn't want the limelite, either way he paltered.

Wright was supposed to have been at an event at Texas Christian University in Ft Worth. TCU canceled that event so Wright will appear at the Divinity School instead. Maybe this will be cancelled also as the church sponsering him is catching heat.
The Rev. Jerimiah Wright deal is showing how widespread his radical thoughts are in Black churches nationwide.

Well I just heard on Rush, that Wright has attacked the Italians, calling them Garlic Noses, among other things.
Whether This Preacher is, like Lynn says avoiding controversy, remains to be seen but it does sound like he doesn't want any part of Wright.
Either way Wright is a paria and for that reason I hope he stays around for quite awhile.

Lynn, one thing as long as Wright is around is helps show how awful Obama is,since Obama must have agreed with the things Wright said till it was brought out for all to see.

This Rev. Wright and Barack Obama hate speech thing has hopefully opened the Pandora's box of black racism in this country. It is unfortunate, but blacks have become the new and largest group of racists in this country. Their children, including Barack Obama's two daughters, are exposed to anti-White, anti-America, anti-Jew, and anti-Israel hate speech in black churches with the congregations cheering on and applauding the hate mongers.
These racist views are reinforced from other adults including parents, self-proclaimed leaders, rap artists, TV programs, movies, and teachers at all levels of schooling.
The more the Internet, blogs, and You Tube continue the coverage and exposure of this real racism in America the better off the country will be. Racists like Barack Obama will not be able to make Slick-Willy like speeches to cover up who the hate mongers are and who are their supporters.

Chrissie, this is some more about wright's affilliation with the right Rev Mason. This was written prior to the right Reverand Mason cancelling Wright's visit. I reckon preaching and cursing are similar, if you use the verbage, terms and their association in front of your peers they become accustomed to them and it is only the outsider who is shocked at the usage, to everyone else it has become accepted. Take the association of Cindy Sheehan and Hugo Chavez or that of Jimmy Carter and Fidel Castro, mutual admiration is exhibited while the rest of us are reminded that we are judged as we percieved by the company we keep. It would be nice to think that Rev. Earl Mason is not of the same ilk as Reverand Wright.

Jeremiah BULLfrog Wright is in... hiding status since over 200 black Pennsylvania churches HAD endorsed Obama three weeks ago! I hear Ted Kennedy is offering to drive Pastor Wright around?
