33 Senator's Should Be On List As UnAmerican
33 Senators voted against English as America 's official language on June 6, 2007. Of the 33, only one is a Republican and two are Independents; the rest are Democrats!

Your vote reflects betrayal and political surrender. It violates your Pledge of Allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator. Impeachment, recall or other appropriate action is warranted or possibly even worse.Four of you voting against English as America 's official language are current or former presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama. You are and were four Senators vying to lead America, but you won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as "political hacks" unworthy of being Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as the President of the United States .
If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally "rock you out of your pants" and, preferably, totally out of the United States Senate. The entire immigration bill is a farce. Your action only confirms this really isn't about America , it's about self-serving politics and it's despicable at best. It has been said, "Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level!"

This is a great letter that Colonel Harry Riley wrote.
What nerve it takes and a hate for America for a politician to vote against English to be our language. Whenever I traveled out of the country I always took a small language booklet with me of whatever the language was in the country I was going to. I was never good at speaking other languages but I at least tried, out of respect for the country where I would be visiting or working.
There are many languages spoken by those coming to this country and it is WRONG that we have press #2 for Spanish instead of letting them know they need to learn English if they plan on living here.

I think Bush should make this mandate. Those who don't speak english should realize we aren't taking away their right to speak whatever language they speak in their homes, but they should learn english to converse in the real world--no more pointing at pictures to tell us what you want or buying the wrong thing and getting mad at the store clerk because you couldn't read the label. And I'm tired of losing jobs to those who don't speak english.
I'm not going to learn another language just to please them.
I was born here, as were generations upon generations of my family before me. No one coddled them--they HAD to learn english or they didn't survive--period!

Speaking different languages only Balkanizes a country. America became the world's mightiest nation speaking English. It is a shame so many American entities, especially businesses put their ads and correspondence in Spanish. You know what is coming next. The demand for equality by providing business in Arabic.
These 33 Senators should be deported to some Third World crap hole.

Hmmmn, seems they all want to be addressed as 'honorable' too.
If 1/3 of the senators are scumbags what about the other 2/3 who are their peers? They,like the AMA,the NLG and the ACLU are as guilty as that 1/3 for not condemning their own ethical defects and traitors. Earn that introduction of honorable!!! Why limit that to the Senate, take the same premise to the entire Congress.

Previous generations of legal immigrants were proud to become part of the American dream and melting pot. Most learned English and those that couldn't made sure that their children did. The country flourished.
Now we have been invaded by millions of illegals who don't respect the Nation's heritage, laws, beliefs, and English language. It is not what they can do for the nation but what they can take from the nation. The country is no longer flourishing like it did before.
I wonder why? Shame on those in the Senate who violate their oath of office and are all too willing to destroy the great America that we were and should be again.

Lynn, I really hate how this kind of thing has effected your jobs and work. It is so very wrong and it has got to stop. I don't know how but I can't stand it.
It weakens our country too in many ways.

Les that is true and it seems the only ones wanting an exception made are the ones coming in from Mexico. I really even doubt it is other groups that speak Spanish. Cubans in Florida want to become as American as they can, and speak English very well.
