Dean Martins' son, Paul, was a fighter pilot in the Air National Guard who lost his life when his F-4 Phantom crashed.
It disgusts me how Democrats tried to make service in the National Guard as "cushy". Try telling that to Dean Martin.

Freedom isn't free. Everybody in a democracy has to work at it. I call that personal responsibility. When people throw away or surrender their personal responsibility to big government that is called Socialism. Goodbye freedom and democracy.

Bob I agree so much. I remember when that happened. Dean was never the same after he lost his son. It was so sad. But he was also so very proud of his son too.

BobF: After leaving Myrtle Beach AFB I reported to SPangdahlem AB in West Germany! God I miss the A-10 Thunderbolts and F-4 Phantoms, big time sir. Both weapon systems are now at SPang and we hope to take a C-5/C-17 hop to Ramstein then check out the old Eifel region... Trier too! -
