Border-control Activists Bemoan McCain's Rise

They've set up surveillance on the Rio Grande and filmed illegal immigrants crossing the river by night.
They've mapped border crossing spots from Texas to California in airplanes mounted with cameras. They've confronted day laborers on street corners and parking lots in Houston.
But now activist groups working to limit illegal immigration are stunned and dismayed by the rise of Arizona Sen. John McCain as the likely Republican presidential nominee — and a threat to their work and cause.
In their world, McCain is a traitor because he fought for a landmark bill last year that offered a path to citizenship for undocumented residents, a move some critics derided as "amnesty."
Members of these groups were discouraged Thursday after former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — who took a hard line against illegal immigration — dropped out of the presidential race.
Some now joke about voting for Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton. Others say it's time to switch to Republican Rep. Ron Paul, while others hope that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee can somehow surge to the fore.
''There is no scenario anymore, everything is gone," lamented Shannon McGauley, founder and president of the Texas Minutemen, whose members have conducted operations on the Southwest border.
Curtis Collier, the head of U.S. Border Watch in Houston, said McCain's ascendancy, simply put, ''is bad for us, I'll be honest."
''None of the candidates are strong on immigration, and Romney probably was the strongest," said Collier, whose group regularly confronts day laborers at informal hiring centers around Houston. ''Now that he's gone, many of our issues are in trouble."
The depth of the negative feelings for McCain can be seen in comments by conservatives such as commentators Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, who liken the GOP candidate to his Democratic counterparts.
''I don't see much difference between Hillary and McCain on immigration," said Louise Whiteford, president of Texans for Immigration Reform in Houston, which has 400-plus members. ''That doesn't give us much of a choice."
Consequently, Whiteford said her organization will begin focusing on local elections to advocate their agendas.
Wild Thing's comment........
Memo to McCain, if you become President please take seriously American sovereignty when you push through your Amnesty bill for the illegal foreign invasion.
The Straight Talk Express is more aptly named the “BS Limited.”

There's a revolution coming. Are the illegals ready for it?
We need another Sam Houston to kick Mexico's butt again.
Where are the Sam Houstons, George Washingtons, Ben Franklins, Robert E Lees and Ulysses S Grants?
Where are the brave souls who would venture out to push back this invasion?
America is going blindly into the night because we have our heads in the sand!
I am tired of being told I have to learn spanish or get fired. I am tired of pressing 1 for english. I am tired of seeing spanish on top of english on products at the grocery store. I am tired of companies taking pesos and euros instead of the dollar. I am sick and tired of seeing illegals who can't speak a lick of english trying to get drugs from a pharmacist at Walmart without a prescription and getting mad at the pharmacist because they can't do anything about it.
And the new diseases my kids are exposed to.
It's like Independence Day--they come over here with an attitude and make our lives miserable.
McCain has to grow up and smell the coffee beans. These Gringos are going to be the ruin of our nation and my descendants will have to live in a world I don't want them to.

Get ready. In January of 2009 the borders are going to be opened wide by whomever the new president is. All three candidates are amnesty people and the globalists are celebrating already. The North American Union is pulling out of the station and will soon be up to top speed on a clear track. President Bush's plans will be coming to a reality.
American sovereignty has been sold. We will be one big Walmart where Spanish will be the first language because we will be expected to understand Spanish rather than the illegals being expected to learn English. I already see this in a number of retail places here in North Texas.
This Presidential election proved to me that this globalization project is powerful. Look at what happened to the very few candidates that had an anti-amnesty stance. They were ignored and their message pretty well blocked. There were only two active anti amnesty candidates, Tancredo and Hunter. In the debates they were given far less attention than the other candidates, even though surveys showed that Republicans first concern was illegal immigration.
We will not have a revolution. We may have a civil war though. It will be a Balkanized type civil war. The main combatants may be Hispanics and moslems over the spoils. Stay tuned. Buy ammo!

All the remaining presidential candidates support open borders and preferential amnesty treatment for illegal aliens. So, it's time to ratchet up the discussion to the issues of the financial and social damage that illegal aliens have caused and continue to cause to this country. Don't make it personal to any candidate. Just make the illegal alien invasion public enemy number one.
Conservatives should use talk shows, blogs, and emails to share facts about how many hospitals have closed, schools overburdened, prisons overpopulated, people killed and injured, children raped, victims of gangs like M13, and other impacts of illegal aliens. Everything should be described in the most negative way as Democrats have been doing about the country for decades. This priority pressure needs to be applied right up to election day and even after that.
Voters should be educated enough with the downside of the illegal alien invasion to be scared, very scared, about what they have done, and continue to do, to this country. Let these voters start asking the candidates about the dark side of illegal aliens and question why any candidate would knowingly want to cause this havoc and destruction to the country.

Lynn, I agree, and that list you have is all across our land. Lynn, I wonder if someone could at least get McCain to sign something promising he would secure our borders and never do amnesty. He would probably blow his stack even at the suggestion.

Tom, yes maybe they will fight each other for power over us, then we can defend ourselves against the wininers and hopefully win in the end.

Les good ideas, blogs take a lot of time so it would have to be someone that doesn't have a blog already that would do one listing all those things and keep updating it.
I agree also about keeping pressure on our leaders and speaking out in as many ways as we can. I sure won't go silent into the night either.
