Maryland Gov. OKs Driver’s Licenses for Illegals
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s administration is drawing up plans for a two-tiered licensing system that would issue different driver’s licenses to undocumented aliens and legal residents.
Maryland is currently one of eight states that permit illegal immigrants to get licenses.
Under the new system, undocumented immigrants would have to prove only that they live in Maryland, but they would not be able to use their licenses to board airplanes, enter federal buildings or cross borders, the Washington Post reports.
Maryland Senate Minority Leaders David Brinkley, a Republican, is critical of the plan backed by the Democratic administration.
“The state is endorsing people to skirt the law,” he said. “Then Maryland becomes a haven for people that are here illegally.”
As other states, including neighboring Virginia, have tightened requirements for documentation in obtaining a license, Maryland has seen an increase in demand for driver’s licenses from foreign-born individuals, according to the Post.
The two-tiered system is similar to one proposed earlier by Gov. Eliot Spitzer in New York, which does not allow illegal immigrants to obtain licenses. He was forced to abandon the plan in the face of political opposition, and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was criticized for saying it was a good idea.

And illegal alien will be stupid enough to accept such a license that publicly brands him as such. As was pointed out in the Spitzer version.
The ONLY reason the Left wants illegals to be able to obtain a drivers license in America is so that they can then go to the next window at the DMV and REGISTER TO VOTE!!

WT, I agree with you, but here in Texas, they drive anyhow...and NEVER with auto insurance.
The demoncrats will always get their vote somehow,
by hook or "crook".

I work with a young man who's a college student that's paying his own way though college. Last week he was quite sick and I tried to get him to go the Emergency Room. He said he couldn't because he didn't have any health insurance.
An American Citizen trying to put himself though college couldn't use the Emergency Room because he didn't have insurance but if he was a damn illegal alien, it wouldn't have been any problem for him. We reward the law breakers and punish the honest.

Backasswards! That's the thinking of so many of our politicos toward illegal immigration. Votes and cheap labor, screw the side effects. Polls and voting have shown a great majority of Americans are adamently against the influx of illegals, but again, our politicians aren't listening. They are listening to the influence and $$ of labor intensive business.

The dollar is dropping, People got mortgages are who shouldn't have, they are defaulting on loans and Bush wants to bail these dead beats out.
We are giving away the future of our children and grandchildren all so these weasel politicians can get re elected.
The American people were screaming at the Amnesty program by McCain-Kennedy, now he is a front runner in the republican race. Supposedly South Carolina was in a snit about their Senator Graham (Rino) and again McCain is leading in SC.
People can't be this stupid... can they ?

Tom, like you said it is all part of the global stuff, to weaken our country. Hope we can stop it soon, this has already gone way too far. It never should have happened in the first place.

Mark I just don't understand it at all. There was so much noise about the amnesty they tried twice and yet people can't wait to vote for McCain. HUH I say to myself, where is there brain???? Weren't they serious about not wanting the amnesty to be put through....just weird, nuts!
