Kerry: No Dem will ever be swift-boated again
ABC's This Week, broadcast January 13, 2008.
Senator John Kerry told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week" that no Democratic President will ever allow themselves to be attacked in the way that the "Swift-boat veterans" group attacked him in 2004.
"Unfortunately, when lies are put out on television sufficiently and unanswered sufficiently, they can make a difference. That will never, ever happen again," he said.
Stephanopoulous and Kerry discussed Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's clash over a controversial comment Clinton made regarding Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Clinton accused Obama's campaign of distorting her comments to suggest that she thought less of King.
When Stephanopoulous asked Kerry if he felt the Obama campaign owed Clinton an apology, he neglected to comment.
"George, I don't know what the back/forth has been and i'm not here to get in between, you know, the sort of two campaigns and how they're interpreting that," he said.
Throughout the interview, Kerry voiced his strong support for Obama and his "ability to inspire hope."
"Who better than Barack Obama to talk to young blacks in america or disaffected young people or -- anybody, and sort of say, you see what happens if you have a dream and you pursue it and you work at it?" he said.
Kerry cited financial problems as a main reason why swiftboating was such a problem for him in the 2004 elections.
"No, he won't, nor will any democrat ever again. And you're looking at the person would understands that better than anybody. We made the miscalculation that we had answered the lies enough. They were answered. They were answered contrary to myth on day one, instant one. Counterpress conference. And the mainstream media wrote the truth. But unfortunately, when lies are put out on television sufficiently and unanswered sufficiently, they can make a difference. That will never, ever happen again " "We were stuck in the federal financing. [Barack Obama] is not. And he will have the ability to be able to redefine himself immediately," he said.

A stupid question about Swiftboating to Kerry. And another lie of an answer from traitor Kerry. We just can't seem to get rid of Kerry the jerk. I wonder if he told them he wanted to be asked that question just so he could do his poor me thing on the show. I wouldn't put anything past John Kerry to do, he is pure sleaze.

But the Swiftboat captains told the truth, Kerry.
And maybe Barack speaks to "young" America, but he does NOT speak to older, wiser Americans.
All I see now days with the young is "I want to just lay on my couch, watch tv and let the government take care of me."
That is NOT part of the deal, you little wastoids.
Get up off your butt and go get a job--even if it's flipping Burgers somewhere. I really resent my tax dollars being used in such a way to perpetuate generations of lazy wastoids. The government is NOT your personal toy to play with.
But if a dummycrap were to win, that's the way it would be--tax me to death for social programs that don't work.

Was his name T. Boone Pickins who offered anyone a Million dollars to dispute one charge made by the 'Swifty's' about kerry and Kerry piped up and promised to show Mr. Pickins that it was untrue.
Well Mr. Pickins money is still in the bank and Kerry is now claiming he will protect Obama from being swift-boated, Was Obama in Vietnam too ?
If I were Obama, I would tell kerry to take his support elsewhere.
I really think the Clintons put kerry up to supporting Obama, they know kerry's a pariah and want to really screw up Obama's campaign.

Kerry's permanent goal is respectability, which he'll never have. He's angling here for a role in an Obama administration, say, Ambassador to The People's Republic of Vietnam.

I agree with John Kerry that no Dem will ever be swift-boated again. Not even another Dem would be stupid enough to repeatedly brag and lie about such verifiable events.
That said, nothing will protect us from the avalanche of lies (including that of being swift-boated), made up stories, and tears from the first family of perpetual victimhood -- Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Fortunately for many Democrat Politicians they don’t have the people in their past that John Kerry does; men who served this nation with dignity and honor. At one time in his life, John Kerry was associated with men who were of the highest character. Men who were highly decorated military veterans, including a Medal of Honor recipient. Men who went on in life to be career military officers, laborers, minister, doctors, lawyers, politicians, and farmers; American Citizens who are above reproach. These are the men who pointed their fingers at John Kerry and said “you lied”. These are the men who “Swift-boated” Kerry and these are the type of men very few Democrat Politicians ever had the honor to serve with. But, for John Kerry, this honor was beneath him.

Lynn you right, the Swiftboat Veterans were honest and that is why it really hit Kerry hard it could not fight back. Thank God for all they did and the other Veterans too that helped them like the guys on here helped them too.
