"Elect me and oil prices instantly drop" ~ Hillary
Elect me and oil prices instantly drop, says Hillary Clinton in Iowa
MANCHESTER, N.H.
Hillary Clinton predicted Saturday that just electing her President will cut the price of oil.
When the world hears her commitment at her inauguration about ending American dependence on foreign fuel, Clinton says, oil-pumping countries will lower prices to stifle America's incentive to develop alternative energy.
"I predict to you, the oil-producing countries will drop the price of oil," Clinton said, speaking at the Manchester YWCA. "They will once again assume, once the cost pressure is off, Americans and our political process will recede."
Clinton argued that former President Jimmy Carter in the late 1970s actually started moving in the right direction toward energy independence, but his successor, Ronald Reagan, "dismantled" that work.
"Because costs were low, people didn't care, didn't complain," she said.
She warned that folks shouldn't be grateful now if oil countries cut prices from near $100 a barrel to $60 or $70, and compared it to trying to boil a frog.
"You put him in hot water, it jumps right out, you put him in cold water and turn up the heat - he's a goner," she said. "We've got to figure out how were going to not be the frog in the cold water anymore."
Wild Thing's comment........
Please, PLEASE! Someone tell me people aren't dumb enough to believe this tripe! Yes I know, the reality is that there are people that do believe this baloney! How scary is that!
Said the Beast: “Elect me and oil prices will drop as fast as Billys pants drop when an intern enters the office.”
I am amazed at how much contempt this filth has for her/its countrymen.
Down Home accents to Black audiences, the transparant New York Yankees outrage, etc., ALL the clumsy fakery that would be ridiculed and reviled in the Press, if it were anyone else. When will it stop?
What next I wonder, will she turn water into wine or heal lepers?

I dunno WT ? The ignorant bitch is kinda shooting her mouth off, I don't recall her ever becoming involved in international issues beyond her phony 'it takes a village' BS. Maybe we can get all those used bicycles the Chinese are abandoning in favor of the automobile when hillary bans our automobile use, China has done well since the Dems and the enviro's have killed industry in the United States.
50% average moonbat votes are a dangerous voter percentage and they are still out there voting for their government handouts.
It's hard to believe that half the nation has no clue about world economics, or the role oil and oil prices play in their daily lives, I'm not talking about their cars either.
It's all of the petro-chemical industry, our agricultural bounty, their housing, heating and electricity, it's the basic transportation of people and goods, they also neglect the small businesses that feed from the prosperity of the major industries. I look at the world and see industrious people creating wealth and not one 'industrious government' taxing and spending it's way to prosperity through welfare. Wait until those 20 to 30 million illegal Mexicans figure out that they are the ones slated to subsidize the national welfare system. Siesta time!!!

Oil prices drop immediately? is she planning on putting restrictions on the oil companies? What did that do to us? Even with a thousand dollar bill, you couldn't buy gas, because the oil companies refused to produce it.
What does that do to the economy? Did she flunk Economics 101?
Let's say you make widgets and you make a nice profit. Now here comes the government telling you that they're going to not only put restrictions on how many you can make, but also tax your profits. What are you going to do? Move to a foreign country where they won't put restrictions on you and won't tax you, but your American workers are out of their jobs. What does that do to the economy?
She's a sneaky snake in the grass.
Don't trust her as far as I can spit and I can't spit very far.

Sure, she'll cut oil usage in the US. She'll tax it so heavily that a majority of Americans will no longer be able to afford to buy gasoline. If we think $3.00 per gallon is high, just wait till she gets in the White House.

Yes I heard this on Fox, that the mere presence of her being in the White House will cause Oil prices to drop. The Saudi's will tremble in fear and drop their shorts ... er, oil prices.
There is no acknowledgement of the fact that we haven't built a new refinery in 30 years, the ones we still have are already at capacity and old, and when a storm like Katrina hits some of them there are no more to take up the slack. And Hillary being nice to the Saudi's is going to loosen them up to lower their prices ... Yeah right. But sadly there are enough nitwits out there that will believe this bilge and vote for her.
Then there is the renewable fuels idea and using more Ethanol. Again the donks defy the law of conservation of energy. Similar to the rumor in the 70's, during the gas crisis, that there was a carboretor that could guarantee 70 miles per gallon, but the Big Auto companies bought it out, so we couldn't have it. The idea that a 4000 pound car could some how get 35 miles per gallon was/is just ridiculous.
Finally, there's the question of whether CFLs really do reduce the use of electricity. Back in 1987, the small town of Traer, Iowa, handed out 18,000 fluorescents to its residents, in a free giveaway aimed at cutting power consumption. How did that work out?
Despite the fact that over half of the town's households participated, electricity use actually rose by 8 percent. Once people realized they could keep their lights on at lower cost, they kept them on longer.
With this sort of history as a guide, what business does Congress have leading us into a questionably-illuminated future?

Jack, thank you for that information. Your right and I forget which politican is was but yesterday I read where...I think it was Mitt Romeny not sure, has some big plan for some kind of welfare. sheesh give me a break.
Also this is a real pet peeve of mine, how the enviro's wont' let our country drill where we have tons of oil. I really get angry at this.

Lynn, ..."She's a sneaky snake in the grass"...she sure is and she will say any stupid thing and there are idiots out there that will believe her. amazing

Posted by: Wild Thing at December 27, 2007 12:45 PM
Mark......LMAO
"The Saudi's will tremble in fear and drop their shorts".....
It is amazing isn't how Congress wants or plans to do what you mentioned.

Didn't we have a major gas crunch in '79 during Jimmah the Carter's reign. Haven't the Dems been the major obstacle to energy independence by blocking domestic drilling and new refineries. Hillary will be even more of this socialist interference with a free market.
I worry less about how nutty she is, then I worry about the idle brained, handout seeking people that will vote for her.

Hillary Clinton is as believable and truthful as Bill Clinton when he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms Lewinsky." Unfortunately, too many Americans and voters live in a land of pure socialist wishful nanny state fantasy and buy into this crap.
It takes a village of idiots to elect Hillary Clinton president.

Tom yes your right I remember the long lines for gas back then.
Posted by: Wild Thing at December 27, 2007 07:05 PM
Les,"a village of idiots"...is exactly right.
