10.3 Million New Immigrants ~ Half Of Them Illegals

Immigration over the past seven years was the highest for any seven-year period in American history, bringing 10.3 million new immigrants, more than half of them without legal status, according to an analysis of census data released today by the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington.
One in eight people living in the United States is an immigrant, the survey found, for a total of 37.9 million people — the highest level since the 1920s.
The majority of immigrants arriving in recent years are from Mexico and Central America, and more than half of them are illegal.
The states that have received the largest numbers of the new immigrants are also states where immigration has been hotly debated. After five states that have been high on the immigration list for decades — California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey and Texas — those receiving the most new immigrants included Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Brigitte Gabriel - a patriot in Virginia Beach - is fully aware of this 'Invasion USA' and of the 10 states you listed, five WERE red states in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections: Fla, TX, AZ, GA and Virginia. Now you know why NY Dummycrat Gov. Spitzer wanted to give illegal aliens NY Drivers Licenses! Bush took 30 red states in 2000 and 31 in 2004...

I for one get tired of these articles referring to these Illegal Aliens as Immigrants. They're not Immigrants, their Illegal Aliens. Referring to them as Immigrants is an insult to all the Immigrants who came to this country according to the law with the hopes of becoming American Citizens.
The Illegal Aliens are those who have no respect for the laws of the United States. They have no desire to assimilate and learn our language.

I yearn for the old quarantine days where the sick and undesireables were simply turned around and sent back, but those were the legal immigrants who were exposed to the law of the land, that said I fully agree with BobF. These illegals are here because they chose to break our laws and steal our livelyhoods, Bush should be impeached for two reasons, failing to uphold the law of the land and failing to honor his oath of office, that includes Congress.
President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents - less than one-tenth of today's force. In 1951, Ike wrote a letter to Sen. William Fulbright (D) of Arkansas. The senator had just proposed that a special commission be created by Congress to examine unethical conduct by government officials who accepted gifts and favors in exchange for special treatment of private individuals.Sounds eerily like McCain, Murtha, Reid and Pelosi.
General Eisenhower, who was gearing up for his run for the presidency, said "Amen" to Senator Fulbright's proposal. He then quoted a report in The New York Times, highlighting one paragraph that said: "The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican 'wetbacks' to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government." Years later, the late Herbert Brownell Jr., Eisenhower's first attorney general, said in an interview that the president had a sense of urgency about illegal immigration when he took office. America "was faced with a breakdown in law enforcement on a very large scale," Mr. Brownell said. "When I say large scale, I mean hundreds of thousands were coming in from Mexico [every year] without restraint." Folks that was 56 years ago the condition is still a problem that Congress and the president will not address, it affects their illegal constituents voting block. What has happened since JFK took office? Reagan didn't do us any favors with his amnesty it only exacerbated the problem. They are criminals period.
