Duncan Hunter Gave Fantastic Speech At Iowa Straw Poll

The speech is divided into two parts and neither one is that long. But the speech is excellent.

Duncan Hunter--Iowa Straw Poll Part 1

Part 2

A few quotes

Hunter: Not one Democrat said “way to go Marines!”

Duncan Hunter: “We will be successful in Iraq.”

Duncan Hunter: “It takes more than walking across a border to be an American.”

Duncan Hunter: " I will never apologize for the United States of America"

Duncan Hunter: " The Chinese taking hundreds of billions of dollars more than we're taking from them. I'll tell you what I'm worried about ladies and gentlemen, and one reason I'm running for the Presidency of the United States: I don't want to see a time when our trade deficit is so huge, and we've sent so much of our industrial base offshore, that we're worried about our men and women in uniform someday looking at those same weapons systems that we've financed coming back across the battlefield at our men and women in uniform. I'm going to stop that."

Wild Thing's comment........

I think Hunter he is a man of action from his heart. I have no idea what is ahead in this election. But if I go by how each person makes me feel, Duncan Hunter calms me, I feel a strength from him of leadership, I feel safe just hearing him speak. So far the rest of them in the campaign only make me feel like they are politicians more then anything else. .....Just my thoughts about it.

Comments

Do you notice that Hunter makes no promises of freebies to any group. He stresses maintaining and recovering America's moral and industrial strengths. Duncan Hunter is not flamboyant, but I trust that he says what he believes.

I do not know how much of a chance he really has, but he is my choice for president. The other Republicans are mostly the same blemished tiring types that don't appeal to me. I fear that if we end up with one of the big three front runners, Conservatives will continue to be disappointed and frustrated.

At least Hunter tells the truth.
How many of the front runners are doing that?
Or are the front runners just telling us what we want to hear?
Are we that afraid of the truth? That's why it has be Thompson and Hunter. So far, those are the only two who make any sense.

Watched the re-run of his talk, I like what I see, all the rest have serious flaws and special interests to exploit. The disturbing thing to me is the lack of support from the GOP and the media for Hunter. Those being supported are the same old hacks that were pushed in the last election, none of which are conservative. Romney won the straw poll but he reminds me too much of the Rockefellers. We can't afford to judge the presidential qualifications based on Colegate smiles, campaign financial ability , promises of government largess and photo appeal. Long term incrementalism nearly cost us an incredible harm to our sovereignty not more than a month ago, all engineered by those who want to scuttle our sovereignty, our Constitution, the bill of rights and our freedoms, the cause being led by our very own president. What are their affiliations and motives. If you aren't alarmed you should be.

Tom, yes and I will be very disappointed if it ends up to me one of the top three that are running right now. deep sigh

Lynn your right, those of us on here, and others that we know of we want the truth. We want our leaders to be honest and honest with us too.

Jack yes, and the only thing I can think of about the GOP not getting on the band wagon for Hunter is they ( the GOP) has been slowing turing rino for years. They did nothing to side with Katherine Harris here in Florida and her debates locally were awesome. So she lost to Neilson who is a total socialist so horrible. sheesh
